We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Margaret P. Bean a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Margaret P., we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
Generosity is the quality of being kind and generous and this definition defines my amazing grandmother, the late Evangelist Margaret G. Williams, her middle initials could stand for “Generosity” she was Big Margaret, and I am little Margaret. Grandma raised me and she was always showing generosity to every person she ever met. She lived her life in such a way that was always kind to others and always giving from her hand but motivated by her heart for God.
She imparted to me wonderful words of wisdom and this one particular word “Kindness” always sticks out for me and her impartation was that kindness goes a long way and that it tends to be mistaken for a weakness, however; never underestimate its power! I would have to say that Grandma gets the credit for sharing this powerful blessing of being generous.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
A little about me is that I was diagnosed at an early age with Dyslexia which led to getting left back and dropping out of high school to becoming an Award winning multi published author, playwright & Director of stage plays. Being diagnosed with seeing letters backwards and transposing numbers, only God can put things together in his own unique way. With God all things are possible, Only He would take this and turn it around for my good and so not only becoming a multi published Author but award winning. I always say I believed I could, so I did and now I have brought my soul-satisfying brand to the content I create. It is inspirational books that motivate, and stage plays that bring powerful messages to the masses. It is my unique God given gifts and I am truly humbled and honored to use my creativity and to bring about a powerful product and brand. MPB Entertainment is the brand, and it looks forward to telling stories through entertainment. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most important advice I could give is to remain teachable, it is an essential key quality. No one knows everything so be willing to learn something new each day. Enhancing your skills by seeking mentorship and taking relevant courses in the field you are interested in and lastly just willingness to learn more about your gifts, skills and abilities. Believe in yourself, your product and brand.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am a playwright and Director of stage plays, and so my collaboration with Actors and Actress are very important for bringing my written words to life. Actors read the vision and run with it and the stage is their arena to bring it all together and so being able to collaborate with those passionate about bringing a powerful message to the masses it’s an incredible feeling to see my words up walking and talking. I also would like to collaborate with investors for my stage play projects. I like to travel with my casts, and it gets expensive but to have an investor or even sponsors in the vision of spreading the powerful message would be a great connection of reaching the masses, the disadvantage communities with messages dealing with healthcare awareness, domestic violence.
