Meet Margarita Vigne

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Margarita Vigne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Margarita , appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by finding inspiration in the everyday. I explore textures, colors, and patterns from materials like vintage magazines and recycled objects, transforming them into meaningful artworks. Each piece tells a story, and the process of bringing new life to ordinary items keeps my ideas fresh and exciting. Living in South Florida also inspires me, with its vibrant culture and natural beauty, constantly sparking new ideas.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I create unique mixed-media collages that transform materials like magazine pages, newspapers, and recycled objects into meaningful, intricate works of art. My work combines vintage elements with contemporary expression, exploring themes like love, freedom, resilience, and transformation. Each piece tells a story, making my art deeply personal yet universally relatable.

I’m currently promoting my art both online and through art exhibitions, allowing me to connect with diverse audiences and share the emotions and stories behind my work. Recently, my collage Dream in Full Bloom was recognized in the Art Comes Alive 2024 competition, and I also achieved fourth place in the ArtTour International Magazine – Virtual Magazine Cover Art Contest. These milestones highlight my commitment to creating art that inspires and resonates.

In addition to my artistic journey, I offer Shopify website development services specifically for artists. My goal is to help fellow creatives establish and grow their online presence, showcasing their work to a global audience. Whether through my art or my services, I aim to transform ordinary elements into something extraordinary and leave a lasting impact.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, adaptability, and storytelling.

Resilience has helped me push through challenges and moments of doubt, staying committed to my art and vision. Adaptability has allowed me to embrace change, explore new materials, and evolve my style, keeping my work fresh and meaningful. Finally, storytelling has been at the core of my art, enabling me to connect with audiences by weaving personal experiences and universal themes into my collages.

For those just starting their journey, my advice is to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, this builds resilience. Be open to experimentation and change; adaptability will help you discover your unique voice. And most importantly, focus on telling your story. Authenticity resonates, so let your work reflect who you are and what matters to you. Every journey is unique, but these qualities can guide you through the ups and downs and help you create something meaningful.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

My ideal client is someone who seeks uniqueness and finds meaning in art that tells a powerful story. They resonate with themes of love, transformation, understanding, and the beauty of life’s journey. They are drawn to pieces that evoke emotion and reflect their own values, such as compassion, resilience, and a deep respect for the natural world—including animal protection.

This client appreciates the thought and care behind every piece, recognizing the symbolic messages woven into my work. Whether they’re looking for art that inspires personal reflection or aligns with their commitment to positive change, they connect with the deeper purpose and storytelling in my collages. My ideal client values art as a way to express their beliefs and celebrate the transformative power of love and connection.
