Meet Maria Dominguez C. Geraci

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maria Dominguez C. Geraci. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Maria, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I discovered my purpose through a combination of experience, passion, and a commitment to making a real impact in the healthcare industry. My journey in medical billing and coding began over a decade ago, where I gained firsthand insight into the complexities healthcare providers face—navigating compliance regulations, managing revenue cycles, and ensuring accurate reimbursements.

As I worked in the field, I saw a critical gap: many providers were struggling with proper billing practices, leading to financial losses and compliance risks. I knew I could make a difference by offering expert solutions tailored to their needs. That realization drove me to establish ACP Billing Services Inc., a company built on precision, integrity, and a deep understanding of healthcare revenue management.

My purpose is clear—to empower healthcare providers with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to optimize their financial health while focusing on patient care. By bridging the gap between medical expertise and financial sustainability, ACP Billing Services Inc. isn’t just a business; it’s a mission to elevate the industry and create lasting success for those we serve.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

What excites me most about my work is helping providers optimize their revenue while staying compliant with ever-changing regulations. Additionally, I offer patient services to help individuals better understand their billing and health insurance information, ensuring they feel confident and informed throughout the process.

We offer comprehensive billing support across all inpatient and outpatient service categories, for both in-network and out-of-network providers, ensuring a wide range of healthcare practices receive the attention they need for seamless billing and coding.

We’re also offering extra one-on-one coaching for medical billing and coding professionals who want to refine their skills or break into the industry.

Beyond running my business, I’m also an instructor , where I mentor future medical billing and coding professionals. Teaching allows me to give back to the industry by equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

I’m honored to be nominated for Who’s Who in America, and I look forward to continuing to grow ACP Billing Services Inc. while making a difference in the healthcare industry.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Adaptability has been crucial, especially in an industry like healthcare, where regulations and technologies are constantly changing. I’ve had to stay flexible and adjust my strategies to keep updated with these shifts and ensure my clients remain compliant and successful.

Attention to detail is essential in medical billing and coding. One small error can lead to significant financial and compliance issues. By prioritizing accuracy and carefully analyzing each case, I help healthcare providers prevent costly errors and ensure compliance.

Lastly, continuous learning has been the foundation of my business’s success. The healthcare industry is vast, and keeping up-to-date with new coding systems, billing regulations, and emerging technologies has been key to staying competitive.

For those early in their journey, my advice would be:
1. Be adaptable—don’t be afraid to pivot or change course when needed. The world is always evolving, and flexibility will be your greatest asset.
2. Pay attention to the details—in business and healthcare, even the smallest misstep can create challenges. Cultivating a mindset of thoroughness will pay off in the long run.
3. Commit to lifelong learning—stay curious and keep investing in your education. Whether it’s through formal courses, industry research, or mentorship, never stop growing your knowledge base.

By focusing on these areas, you’ll be well-equipped to build a strong foundation and thrive in your professional journey.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is a healthcare provider—whether they are an in-network or out-of-network practitioner, a new startup, or an established practice—who values accuracy, compliance, and personalized service. They understand the importance of efficient billing and coding processes and are looking for a trusted partner to ensure their operations run smoothly and stay compliant with the ever-changing regulations in healthcare.

An ideal client for me is someone who is proactive about staying up-to-date with industry standards and regulations and who appreciates a collaborative approach to business management. They want a team that will work alongside them to identify overpayment opportunities, reduce compliance risks, and optimize revenue, ultimately allowing them to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. They also appreciate a service that can adapt to their unique needs, whether they need full-service billing support or just need help with specific issues like insurance enrollments or claims resolution.

I also offer patient services, which can be connected through their healthcare provider’s office or available directly to patients seeking assistance on their own. Whether a patient is navigating their own medical billing, has questions about insurance coverage, or is looking to resolve payment issues, I provide clear, concise support that helps them feel informed and confident. For healthcare providers, I offer a transparent billing process that fosters trust with their patients, ensuring that both parties understand their financial responsibilities and can avoid confusion.

I am passionate about working with clients who value open communication, as it enables us to foster long-term relationships built on trust and mutual respect. Whether a client is a small practice just getting started or a large organization needing streamlined operations, I tailor my services to meet their specific needs. By combining expert billing, coding, business management, and patient services, I ensure a seamless, stress-free experience for healthcare providers and their patients alike.
