Meet Maria Leto

We recently connected with Maria Leto and have shared our conversation below.

Maria, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

As a small business dedicated to creating fun, educational content for preschool-aged children, creativity is the heart of what we do! We truly love coming up with fun, unique and exciting ways to help kids learn, and it’s an added bonus when we can make them giggle along the way! Shawn, our co-founder and pediatric speech therapist, draws constant inspiration from the children she works with, while Maria, co-founder and Montessori mom, fuels her creativity when playing with her two kids.

We also stay inspired by continually learning, growing, and staying connected to our community and others in the education space. For example, Shawn has expanded her training in literacy instruction, and we are working on adding a pre-literacy program to Class with Chloe.

While creativity comes more easily to us, marketing our business and finding new ways to share our work has been a bit trickier. We are constantly trying new ways to promote our business. Our most recent endeavor was to create restaurant placemats with our preschool activities, which we’ve distributed to local restaurants.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Class with Chloe is an online platform designed to provide fun, educational content for preschool-aged children. Through interactive videos, activities and games, we aim to make learning an enjoyable experience while fostering creativity, curiosity, and development. Our content is carefully crafted by a team of preschool experts, ensuring that every lesson and activity is both engaging and educational. Whether it’s through playful games, story times, or hands-on learning exercises, Class with Chloe is dedicated to helping children grow and thrive in a hands-on, supportive and age-appropriate way. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on the journey of Class with Chloe, three qualities that have been most impactful are creativity, adaptability and an understanding of our audience’s needs.

Being able to think outside the box and develop new, fun, and engaging ways to help children learn has been at the core of our business. For those early in their journey, I recommend dedicating time to brainstorm regularly, experiment with new concepts, and never be afraid to try something unconventional. Our Zoom brainstorming sessions are always filled with inspiration and often leave us with a ton of exciting new ideas!

The ability to adapt to changing circumstances has been essential and we’ve done this many times since starting Class with Chloe. We have faced the challenges of marketing, technology, and ever-changing social media platforms. Embracing change and being open to learning new things has helped us – and we’re still on that journey right now. The path may not always be linear, and being open to adjusting your approach can be a game-changer.

We always try to keep in mind who we’re creating for—preschool-aged children and their families—and ensure our content is tailored to their needs. An understanding of our audience has helped shape everything from our product pricing to our marketing strategies.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

We would be thrilled to collaborate with a marketing mom, so if there are any moms out there with a background in marketing, we would love to hear from you! We can be reached at hello@classwithchloe.com.
