Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maria Paula Gerez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Maria Paula, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
trying to walk with small big steps, always taking risks, that’s what it’s all abou,t but little by little. Asuming responsibility, work, discipline and learning from each stage.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I owned a bakery in Bay Harbor Island in Miami, I started running that business with my sister Josefina only after one year of leaving Argentina (my country). We made it wirh a los of effort, learning day by day. I started as a server with my sister in law and only one person at the kitchen. We learned a lot from our clients, I learned how to cover all positions, we learned from the mistakes too and we put all our love on what we were doing since the first minute. We know we wanted to work in a happy place and make the customers fell at home.
Now we are 16! and we continue loving what we do and our customers too.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
make our staff feel at home so customers will feel the same. Cook with love, listening to all our customers suggestions,
work very hard since the minute one, focusing on the dream we wanted to fulfill, on our objectives, on what experience would we like to have if we seat in another similar place.
to be a happy place where for sure customers will love to come!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
the example in working hard,, in giving everything of oneself and in giving value to the small great things. in the possibility of falling and getting back up again!
