Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mariah Celine. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Mariah, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
I believe I get my generosity from my mom. She’s such a kind, loving, and caring person. Growing up, I watched her extend that kindness and love to so many people, so it was instilled in me at a very young age. One of my fondest memories as a kid was going with her during the holidays to take gift baskets to everyone from our doctors, to our teachers, to our neighbors and as I grew older I realized how rare the kind of generosity she showed is.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Mariah Celine, and I’m a 29 year old serial entrepreneur. I started my business, BlinkMink Lash Co, in March of 2020. BlinkMink is an online beauty store that offers free shipping and local pickup for a wide variety of our very own faux-mink strip eyelashes, beauty accessories, cruelty-free cosmetics, and more! We also have a variety of Eyelashes available on the Walmart app. In addition to running my business, I offer my own marketing services to other small businesses that include personalized marketing strategies, content creation and social media management.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’m hindsight, I’ve learned so many valuable things that have impacted my journey as a business owner and entrepreneur. Some skills that stand out would be my determination, ability to problem solve, and knowledge of consumer studies. I feel like these things are pretty basic but make a world of difference when navigating tasks as a business owner and I wouldn’t be here today had I not been willing to expand on those qualities. Whatever your niche is, keep yourself motivated and be willing to learn something new everyday!

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
The first thing I do when I feel overwhelmed is take a step back to look at the bigger picture. Most times, my stress or anxiety is brought on by overthinking, so taking a break to regroup is vital. Once I clear my head, planning and prioritizing help to get me back on track. My best advice is to remind yourself everyday just to take one foot in front of the other, and rest whenever you need it so you’re able to keep going. After all, “Rome wasn’t built in one day.”
