Meet Mariah James

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mariah James. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mariah, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose in a hobby. I know it’s funny to say but my purpose has been built based off of an hobby I developed in junior high school. Which was applying makeup.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a Licensed Esthetician Freelance Makeup Artist, & Beauty Content Creator for social media. My vision for 2026 is to finally open my esthetician suite to service clientele with a wider range of services to offer.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three skills that were most impactful in my journey were staying dedicated, learning from my mistakes & being versatile.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing that my parents did for me was pray for me & support me. My mom for instance has seen me from the ground up. From my toddler self singing “I want it that way” from the Backstreet Boys to me posting my first makeup looks on social media. My father he’s encouraged me to sing more & use the gift of music that God has given me.
