Meet Mariah Prussia

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mariah Prussia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mariah , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I believe my resiliency stems from a multitude of life events, where I was left with only once option, to grab the shovel and dive into the emotional trenches! My past experiences of sexual assault, domestic violence, failures and challenges allowed me the ability to connect on a deeper level within myself, which has led to the ability of connecting and helping others become their strongest warrior self! Each of our unique stories provide us with choices of becoming a victim or victor. The key is to define the fight, so you can actively seek the tools required to WIN the fight!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

When the question is asked on what I do for a living, my first response is, “which hat would you like to hear about?” What I have found is that my passion lies deep within helping individuals RISE, OVERCOME and BECOME their strongest WARRIOR SELF! My mantra / trademark “Define the Fight,” bleeds into my entire being personally and professionally as
a dynamic Motivational Speaker, Self Defense Expert, Mindset Coach, Podcaster & Talk Show Radio Host on WDAY 970AM, Fargo’s First Sanctioned Professional MMA Fighter and Former Professional Boxer.

Through my speaking events and trainings, I share my story on facing and defeating many life ambushes as a single mother inside and out of the cage; which is reflected in the Upper Midwest Emmy Award Winning Best Topical film “Prussia.” Prussia depicts my life as a fighter, survivor, and driven mother with an indomitable will to DEFINE and WIN the fight of life. Recognizing that my mission is larger than myself, I strive to ignite the internal warrior within my clients, corporations and newly founded non-profit organization Define the Fight, Inc, empowering youth to lead from within. I have worked with all walks of life and will continue to, however; with the crisis our children are currently facing. I am committed to impacting the lives of our children’s mental, physical and emotional needs, through my newly founded nonprofit, Define the Fight.

If you, your corporation or children are ready to define their fight, I am here to help you WIN YOUR FIGHT!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The most important qualities, skills or knowledge that helped me to persevere, were provided through my parents upbringing, values and work ethic instilled as a child. I believe hard work will never fail you, however; sometimes you may need to pivot on your journey. Train your mind to be resilient, for you must first train your mind before you step into the battlefield of life. Finally, if your work structure is not in alignment with your “why,” then change the structure. You are NEVER stuck in a position or scenario, you may just be stuck in your way of thinking. Shift your perspective, and then take action!

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Wow, where do I start? My parents have absolutely been the rock for myself and my children. There have been a plethora of circumstances that I have faced, and my parents have always been there through the hills and the valleys. It would be a toss up between daily visits while I was on hospital bedrest for 44 days with my youngest son, to believing in me and my mission when the financials weren’t reflecting my reach within the community. Selecting just one, I would lean towards their unwavering faith in my ability to not only build my business from the ground up, but to believe in my mission, which is larger than myself. I am grateful for their unconditional love, their faith, the values they instilled within me, and their continual support for my family. I am blessed!
