We recently connected with Mariana Pino-chaluja and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariana, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
I developed the ability to take risks by leveraging the problem-solving and adaptability skills I honed as a pediatric occupational therapist, where creative solutions and flexibility were essential. My passion for creating my own athleisure brand provided a strong motivator and vision, helping me embrace the uncertainties of this career change. Additionally, my background allowed me to transfer valuable skills like organization and understanding client needs, while my resilience and support from mentors or loved ones further empowered me to navigate this significant transition.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of All the Vibes, a woman-owned athleisure brand dedicated to empowering women through stylish and functional apparel. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to create designs that seamlessly blend fashion with comfort, so women can feel confident whether they’re having coffee with friends, hitting the gym, or running errands. Our pieces are crafted to transition effortlessly between different aspects of daily life, offering both performance and style. Our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is at the heart of what we do, ensuring that each item not only looks great but also contributes positively to the environment. We’re thrilled to announce upcoming product launch that will introduce new styles to our collection.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were adaptability, passion, and resilience. Adaptability allowed me to navigate the transition from being a pediatric occupational therapist to launching my own athleisure brand, embracing new challenges and learning curves along the way. Passion drove my commitment to creating a brand that truly resonates with women, pushing me to innovate and excel. Resilience helped me overcome setbacks and stay focused on my goals, even when faced with obstacles. For those early in their journey, I’d advise cultivating adaptability by embracing change and learning new skills, nurturing your passion to stay motivated and focused, and building resilience by viewing setbacks as learning opportunities and persisting through challenges. Focusing on these qualities will equip you to navigate your own path and achieve your goals.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
