Meet Marianne Renauld

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Marianne Renauld a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Marianne, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from a combination of my upbringing, personal experiences, and a conscious choice to focus on the positive aspects of life ♥️

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a 38-year-old woman originally from Venezuela, where I studied industrial engineering and haute cuisine. In Venezuela, my work was focused on evaluations and consulting in the fields of safety, hygiene, environment, and occupational health. Additionally, I owned a gourmet burger food truck and operated a catering service specialized in weddings.

I’ve been living in the United States for about nine and a half years, and for the last five years, I’ve resided in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas. Here, I started my catering business specializing in grazing tables and charcuterie boards, bringing to life everything that makes me happy.

I also distribute a brand of Venezuelan products in Central Texas called TQMUCH. Our products are of the highest quality and presentation, perfect for making authentic Venezuelan dishes at home. I invite you to visit their website at www.tqmuch.com. You can find our products in Latino supermarkets, as well as in restaurants and food trucks.

What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to blend my cultural heritage with my passion for culinary arts and share it with others. Whether through a beautifully crafted grazing table or the authentic flavors of Venezuelan cuisine, I strive to create memorable experiences for my clients and customers. My dedication and love for my work can be seen in every detail of my creations.

I also invite everyone to visit my website www.canapebymr.com, follow me on Instagram @canapebymr, and find me on Facebook at Canapé by Marianne Renauld to see the passion and care I put into every aspect of my business.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Resilience: Starting and running a business is filled with challenges and setbacks. My resilience has helped me to push through difficult times and find creative solutions to problems. This quality was particularly crucial when transitioning from my work in Venezuela to establishing my catering business in the United States.
2. Passion: My passion for culinary arts and my cultural heritage has been a driving force behind everything I do. This passion is evident in the quality of my grazing tables, charcuterie boards, and the Venezuelan products I distribute. It’s what keeps me motivated and engaged in my work every day.
3. Continuous Learning: The world of food and catering is constantly evolving, and staying ahead means always learning something new. Whether it’s experimenting with new flavors, staying updated with the latest industry trends, or improving my business skills, continuous learning has been essential to my success.

For those who are early in their journey, my advice is to always move forward and follow what makes you happy. Listen to your heart and give your best in everything you do. Stay at the forefront of your industry because there is always something new to learn that can help you improve and succeed. Embrace each challenge as an opportunity to grow and never stop honing your skills.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

Yes, there are indeed many challenges I am currently facing. I have set ambitious goals for myself, and achieving them has proven to be quite difficult. However, I am confident that I will succeed.
