Meet Marie Adams

We were lucky to catch up with Marie Adams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Marie, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I truly believe that purpose is something God plants inside of us, even before we fully recognize it. For me, it started with a deep love for food and culture, but over time I realized it was more than just enjoying good meals—it was about connecting people, celebrating traditions, and creating community. I know God placed that passion in my heart so I could use it to inspire others and open doors to conversations that matter.

Another part of my purpose has been my children. I want them to see me not only following my dreams but also walking in faith, even when the road isn’t easy. Sharing my journey—through writing, food, travel, and storytelling—shows them that life is full of opportunities to try new things, embrace different cultures, and step boldly into who God created them to be.

So, finding my purpose has been about trusting God’s plan, staying rooted in authenticity, and remembering that the legacy I leave for my kids is built one step, one story, and one experience at a time.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a food and travel storyteller, digital creator, entrepreneur, and mortgage professional of over 10 years. Through my brand Flavors of Travel, I highlight how food and culture connect us on a deeper level. It’s more than reviews—it’s storytelling that celebrates the people, places, and traditions behind every dish. Flavors of Travel is also in development as an upcoming TV show under the Culture Travels Media brand, which I’m very excited about.

In addition, I’m preparing to officially launch The Sauce Is Digital by November 1st. It’s a platform featuring themed cookbooks and lifestyle resources that make cooking approachable, fun, and inspiring. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to blend creativity, culture, and community while also continuing to serve families in the mortgage industry.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey are faith, resilience, and storytelling.

Faith has guided me every step of the way—trusting God’s timing and believing that the gifts He placed in me are meant to serve others. Resilience has kept me moving forward when things didn’t go as planned. Entrepreneurship, content creation, and even my mortgage career all come with challenges, but resilience is what turns setbacks into lessons. And storytelling has been the bridge that connects it all—whether I’m helping a family secure their dream home, creating a digital cookbook, or highlighting a new restaurant, the ability to tell a story that inspires has been powerful.

For anyone starting their journey, my advice would be this: nurture your faith because it keeps you grounded; practice resilience by being okay with failure and using it to grow; and sharpen your storytelling because no matter what field you’re in, people connect to stories more than anything else. Don’t be afraid to start small, keep learning, and trust that consistency will multiply your impact over time.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been confidence and discipline. For a long time, I played small—questioning if I was ready to share my voice on a larger scale. Over the past year, I’ve learned to trust the vision God gave me and step boldly into new opportunities, from expanding my digital brand to developing Flavors of Travel as a TV show.

Along with that confidence, I’ve grown in discipline—balancing entrepreneurship, content creation, and my mortgage career while still being intentional about self-care and family. Learning to create structure, set boundaries, and stay consistent has pushed me forward in ways I didn’t imagine a year ago.

That growth has taught me that when you lean on God, put in the work, and stay consistent, you’ll see doors open that once felt out of reach.
