Mariery , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
creativity for me it’s a very personal thing, a step-by-step, day-to-day feeling. Very much a gut feeling. it reminds you of the things that you enjoy, which brings back to you the inner child wonder. it’s to go back to the beginning, that spark, and try to be surrounded by it once more.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Mariery Young, I’m a Latina artist and designer from tropical Panama. With Mezclao Studio I work on branding, illustration, and limited edition projects. This 2024 I’m excited to get to launch more new projects and collaborations.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
the Latina urge that a no, it’s not definite, there is always a way. It’s a resilient attitude that when you know you know. For our better judgment, I think our culture is very into we will find a way and it will work out in the end.
Looking back at where I am at this moment in my life as an artist, communication is everything. to connect, to communicate your perspective, to show up yourself more than words is another way to say: hey I’m here! it’s me, and this is me. I think finding that balance of what you want, where you are at that moment, and making do with what you have at that time is a skill to cultivate.
the last skill is to fall in love with your industry, learn everything, stay hungry to learn more, explore new things, go back to the classics, to remind yourself why you picked to be there. There is always another chair at the table for someone new,
