We were lucky to catch up with Marijana Kurcubic recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marijana, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
God gave me a gift ( talenat ), but talent is not enough, I am practice and study every day to get better and better. It may sound obvious, but practice is essential for creativity. It takes time and practice being creative, the more you are preparing yourself for success in future creative endeavors.
I see inspiration in everything.(stores, restaurants, other cultures, traveling,..).Be willing to look for inspiration when you are not expecting. If you see something that sparks an imaginative idea, make sure you remember it for the future.
It is very important to have confidence in your work, can help you develop creativity.
Sometimes the best way to form new ideas is to take a step back from your project. (Take a break).

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My company is named “M Events” and we provide a vast amount of services from beautiful flower arrangements, charcuterie and fruit plates, full catering, balloon arrangements, weddings and event decorations. Any kind of events or special occasion, M Events finds a way to make it perfect, unique and rememberable. What sets M Events a part is passion, drive and natural ability to provide unique services to clients that they will remember. I’am a very visual person who uses all my surroundings big or small to inspire me.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities and skills that were most impactful to my journey of success were risk, courage and focus. In the beginning-any new successful enterprise takes risk and the courage to see it through. Whether it’s beginning a new career or starting each painting, this is true. From there it takes focus to do your best and complete the task, job or project at hand. These three attributes are impactful from beginning, during or to end of process.
Also quality and happy customers. Customer service is most important to me. This is the key and driving force behind M Events. When I see the vision come to life, it fills my heart with an immense amount of joy and pride.
And never forget, no matter where you come from or what obstacles you face, hard work and determination can take you far. Believe in yourself, stay true to your passions, and never stop learning. Your journey may have just begun, but with the right mindset and these foundational qualities, the possibilities are endless.
Now go out there and make your mark on the world!
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I am workaholic, I don’t know how to stop, but I am trying to take a break, once in a while. Whenever I feel overwhelmed it’s usually because I’m preoccupied with the future and trying to plan and control every little thing, which is impossible.
Life is so short, live it now in the moment!
