Meet Marina Kourieh

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marina Kourieh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Marina, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Resilience is a trait I had, dear, forged through years of hard work, Faith, and the desire to set a positive example for my family. Growing up, the current instilled in me, the importance of determination and perseverance. I remember the countless days spent watching my mother, juggle working full-time and raising 6 six children while my father work at least 60 hours a week to make end meet. Play recall account with Dave spent watching my mother make the best out of our situation keeping her home filled with love and laughter. She taught me that no matter how tough times got, there’s always a way forward.

When I first started my home health care agency eight years ago, I encountered numerous challenges – each one testing my limits and resolve. I vividly recall the daunting first few months when I was working out from my home kitchen table, trying to establish a client base while balancing my responsibilities as a wife and a mother of three active boys. Many nights, I stayed up late, making calls, drafting plans, creating my own website, designing my own business cards and brochure, and praying for guidance. There were moments when the weight of it all felt unbearable, but deep inside, I held onto my belief that setbacks were just set ups for comebacks.

What can you challenge your day stands out. I had just lost a significant client, which sent the wave of uncertainty replaying through my new business. As I sat in my kitchen table, feeling overwhelmed, I could hear my voice, laughing in the next room and playing. In that moment of vulnerability, I realize that giving up wasn’t an option. – hey them. I wanted them to see that life isn’t always easy, but with faith and grit, we can overcome anything.

Drawing inspiration from my upbringing and my faith, I gathered my strength and about to push through. My phone has been deceased at the time for approximately five years was always a big advocate of his daughters being strong, independent and successful. I could hear his voice telling me repeatedly, “Just keep going.” Oh, I guess we’re best friends about to push through. I revisited my goals, adapted my strategies and leaned on my network of support. My husband was a great supporter and someone who wanted me to succeed for “me” and did everything you could to support my journey. With each small success, I rediscovered my resilience and learned to embrace obstacles as opportunities for growth.

Today my agency stands strong, and i often share these experiences with my boys. I want them to know that resilience isn’t about never falling but about always getting back up. I hope that by watching my journey closely, they understand the value of hard work, faith, determination.

Through the ups ands downs, my resilience has become not only a personal strength but also a foundation for my family. I firmly believe that when life knocks you down, you may feel defeated, but there’s only one way to go – and that is up. I also believe that half the work in anything you do is attitude. The right attitude will foster the right outcome. In nurturing my resilience, I aim to inspire my children to face their own challenges with the same unwavering spirit. Equally, I am to inspire other women to believe in themselves and face their fears of stepping out of their comfort zone to follow their dreams.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Eleanor as the owner of From the Heart Home Health Care, I am deeply passionate about providing quality care that goes beyond the ordinary. After years in the corporate world, I decided to prioritize my family and stay home to raise my young children. However, over time, it was challenging for me to stay home, as I have been a businesswoman since I was 21-years-old. The desire to be productive, while being present for my children, led me launch my own business.

I am most excited about our commitment to treating clients like family. I promised myself I would never place a caregiver in a home that I wouldn’t trust with my own family. Witnessing some of the close bonds close bond our caregivers form with clients is incredibly rewarding; it’s heartwarming to know we provide not just the necessary care, but also the emotional support they deserve.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to share plans for a From the Heart After Baby cCare, which will feature doulas for newborns and their mothers. Caring for a newborn and supporting families during such a crucial time is incredibly special.

In the world that he was rushed, and impressed, my agency aims to bring the human touch back to healthcare. We believe that every interaction matters, and that our clients deserve exceptional care, filled with love and understanding. Thank you for letting me share my journey and vision for our agency!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Are reflecting on my journey and building a successful home healthcare agency, I believe three qualities stand out as essential are resilience, focus, and adaptability. The ability to bounce back from setbacks has been crucial. In an industry as demanding as healthcare, challenges are in inevitable – whether it’s navigating regulatory changes or doing with staffing issues. Focus is also important to maintain a clear vision and staying dedicated to your goals. Lastly, because business and life in general is constantly changing and evolving, it’s critical to be adaptable in order to keep pushing forward.

`For other early in their entrepreneurial journey, I encourage you to develop these three qualities. Embrace challenges as valuable learning experiences; understand that setbacks are a normal part of the process, and can ultimately lead to growth. Surround yourself with the supportive network of mentors and peers that will uplift you and encourage you during difficult times. Stay committed to your vision and set clear goals to help guide your efforts, because having a defined direction will definitely help you keep motivated and on track. It’s also important to be open to feedback, and to continuously learn something knew. This adaptability will not only help you navigate changes in your industry, but also foster innovation within your journey. Remember that personal growth is just an as important as professional growth, so take time to reflect on your journey and celebrate your successes and be grateful for your setbacks.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When overwhelmed, I have a few strategies that help me regain my focus and composure. First and foremost, I take a moment to pray, which grounds me, and reminds me to find peace amongst all the chaos. This really helps me center my thoughts and regain clarity. Next I like to organize my thoughts and create a detailed to do list, breaking down all my tasks into manageable steps. Once I have my list in front of me, I tackle each item, one by one, enjoying the satisfaction of checking them off as I go. I also make clear notes of what needs to be done next, which prevents me from feeling lost, or scattered. Before the day ends, I take the time to organize my checklist for the following day. This preparation really keeps me on track and ensures that I start each day with a clear plan in mind. By using these strategies, I can effectively manage my feelings and maintain my productivity. I would highly recommend for others to pause and practice mindfulness weather through deep breathing a prayer. Additionally, I would urge that everyone organize them selves, creating a to do list and checking things off as you go.
