Meet Mario Barhma

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mario Barhma. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mario, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I’ve been a huge fan of music since my early teens, one day I happened to get introduced to EDM and I stumbled across a video of a producer I liked who showed the process behind making music, that the point where I truly wanted to create music myself, sharing my music online and seeing all the interactions with it just gave me joy that I can’t describe in words. That’s just kinda how I found my purpose,

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

So I make music electronic music specifically, though I’m kinda open to make any style it all just depends on the feels, the most exciting part about making music for me is just to see where one idea can lead you to.

Example: you could just have started a simple drum beat and it could lead to a cinematic masterpiece, the possibility are endless honestly.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

So for me I started in the middle of the pandemic so since I had free time I just made music for 4 hours everyday. I wouldn’t recommend this mainly because it can lead to burnout pretty quickly.

For me the best way I learned was just trying out stuff, I didn’t know music theory so I just experimented and learned from the internet whatever I could, slowly made friends through social media like instagram.

So my best advice would be to just make friends online and just make music even if it’s the worst song you ever made, just remember you will only get better if you are ok with failure.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

Sometimes I do feel the pressure of making more money with music or to make better and better music, it’s really hard sometimes to deal with this feeling honestly, the best thing that works for me is definitely communication, it can be anyone you love and trust, for me it’s a few friends and my oldest sister, they are people who I can bear all my feelings to and they will always have good advice or encouragement. Another things I do is just have hobbies like gaming, anime and photography.
