Meet Marion Doyen

We recently connected with Marion Doyen and have shared our conversation below.

Please tell our readers about what you do, what you feel is most exciting or special about it, as well as anything else you’d like folks to know about your brand/art/etc. If relevant, please also tell our readers about anything new (events, product/service launches, expansion, etc)

My name is Marion Doyen, and I am the co-founder of The Core Fine Art Collection, an online destination that provides art lovers and collectors with an immersive experience akin to visiting a physical gallery. In addition to our web presence, we also organize pop-up exhibitions in unconventional spaces.

The Core recently hosted its inaugural exhibition at Studio Eleven43 in Hollywood, which brought out hundreds of guests on opening night. Leveraging the expansive floor-to-ceiling steel sash windows and the cyclorama wall at Studio Eleven43, we hung many of the artworks from the rafters, which cast brilliant shadows throughout the space and offered a distinctive approach to installation and visual representation. We believe that by bringing art outside of the traditional boundaries of white-wall gallery spaces, we’ll invite diverse audiences to experience art in unexpected and thought-provoking ways.

We’re excited for our next pop-up, which will be held this summer in a prestigious private club in Los Angeles. I‘d love to share more details about this project, but I can’t just yet .. 🙂 If readers would like to keep updated on future exhibitions, they can sign up for our newsletter here!

The next part of the interview is where we’d love to learn more about you, your story and what you are focused on professionally – whether it’s a business, nonprofit, artistic career etc.

What I love most about my role at The Core Fine Art are the opportunities to discover unique venues and curate exhibitions that speak directly to each of those space. Every location holds a story within its architecture and social context, which I find immensely compelling to explore. By delving into the history and atmosphere of each space, I’m able to curate exhibitions that not only showcase our artists’ work but also resonate authentically with the venue itself. This approach allows us to create immersive experiences that allow our audience to engage with the artwork in a more meaninful way.

I’m also grateful for the relationships I get to cultivate with our artists, along with the community that we’re building around The Core through our social media presence and our pop-up exhibitions. I’m currently engaged in various projects, both private and public, aimed at providing our artists with more opportunities to showcase their work. Among these projects, I’m

particularly excited about The Core’s involvement in several public initiatives, which are designed not only to amplify the visibility of our artists but also to provide them with a broader platform with which to showcase their work. By participating in these opportunities, The Core strives to foster an environment where our artists can connect with a diverse viewership, ultimately enriching the cultural landscape.

For me, The Core Fine Art, in addition to being a business, is a commitment to promoting social dialogue and inspiring positive change. At The Core, we are dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations whose values we and our artists uphold. We started this year off by donating proceeds from limited edition prints of O’Gringo’s “On Edge: Little Boy” to the mission:brain foundation, an umbrella organization which provides patients in need with advanced neurosurgical procedures and educates providers on advancements in neurosurgical techniques and care.

Three Most Important Qualities, Skills and/or Areas of Knowledge

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

In my experience, I’ve realized the importance of staying dedicated to my path. It’s taught me the value of perseverance, ensuring I see my projects through to completion. Throughout this journey, I’ve discovered that I’m at my best when I approach challenges as opportunities for growth. It’s the mindset that propels me forward, allowing me to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger than before.

One valuable piece of advice I’d like to share is the importance of setting clear goals. Take the time to identify the specific skills you want to develop or improve upon. Being open to learning new things, even if they are unfamiliar, is key for personal and professional growth.

In addition, maintaining focus and motivation is easier when you have well-defined objectives. Establishing clear milestones helps track progress and keeps you on course towards your goals.

Last, cultivating traits such as persistence, patience and positivity is essential. Not only do these qualities help you navigate challenges effectively, they contribute to healthy relationships with others. Being resilient in the face of obstacles, exercising patience during periods of uncertainty

and maintaining a positive mindset can make a significant difference in achieving long-term success.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Running The Core Fine Art often presents a multitude of challenges and demands, so it remains imperative for me to prioritize self-care as part of my well-being. In this regard, I go to the gym regularly, practice vinyasa yoga and attend mindfulness meditation sessions. Engaging in these activities alleviates built-up tension and allows me to remain centered amidst the demands of entrepreneurship.

When things simply get too busy, I entrust key responsibilities to my team members. I believe that effective delegation optimizes productivity and cultivates a cohesive and resilient organizational framework.

In essence, I like to strike a balance between personal wellness and professional commitments. There’s nothing more satisfying than hitting that sweet spot and watching everything fall into place.
