Meet Marisa Disisto

We recently connected with Marisa Disisto and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Marisa , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I think my work ethic comes from a mix of passion and necessity. I started Lustre Chic from the ground up, so there was no choice but to put in the hours, figure things out on my own, and keep going even when it was hard. I’ve always believed in showing up fully—whether that’s for a bride on her wedding day or for my team behind the scenes. My background in the beauty industry taught me discipline and attention to detail, and my years in business have taught me that success is built on consistency. I’m motivated by knowing my work directly impacts someone’s most important moments, and that drives me to give my best every single time.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m the Founder and Lead Bridal Makeup Artist at Lustre Chic Beautique, a bridal hair and makeup company based in Florida. I handpicked every artist on our team because I believe the energy and talent you bring into someone’s wedding morning sets the tone for their whole day. We specialize in creating looks that are timeless, natural, and personalized to each bride—whether that means soft glam or a bold, red carpet–inspired moment.

What excites me most about what I do is knowing we’re part of one of the most important mornings of someone’s life. There’s nothing like seeing a bride look in the mirror and light up because she feels like the most beautiful version of herself.

Lustre Chic has grown so much since I started it from scratch in 2019. We now have a dedicated bridal beauty studio in Fort Pierce, we’ve been honored with awards like Best of Florida, The Knot Hall of Fame, and WeddingWire Couples’ Choice, and we continue to serve brides all over the state with a team of talented, dependable artists.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding into more luxury weddings, building deeper relationships with planners and venues, and hosting events at our new studio to connect with local vendors. We’re also exploring new service offerings and collaborations that will make the bridal beauty experience even more seamless for our clients.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I think the three qualities that made the biggest impact on my journey were persistence, adaptability, and relationship-building.

Persistence is everything when you’re building something from the ground up. There were plenty of moments where it would have been easier to give up, but showing up day after day, even when things were slow or challenging, built the momentum that eventually paid off.

Adaptability has been equally important. Trends change, the economy shifts, and clients’ needs evolve. Being open to learning new skills, updating our offerings, and adjusting our systems has kept Lustre Chic relevant and competitive.

Lastly, relationship-building has been a game changer. In the wedding industry, trust is everything. The connections I’ve built with my clients, my team, and other vendors have not only fueled referrals but have also made the work so much more fulfilling.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to commit to the long game. Keep learning, be open to feedback, and put effort into your relationships—both with clients and within your industry. Your reputation and network can often be just as valuable as your skills.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Honestly, it’s been a mix of mentors, peers, and my own clients who have shaped me the most. In the early days, I learned so much from other artists I admired—watching how they worked, how they interacted with clients, and how they carried themselves in high-pressure situations. Those examples helped me develop my own standards for professionalism and artistry.

My peers in the wedding industry have also been invaluable. We share tips, refer clients, and lean on each other when challenges come up. That kind of community keeps you from feeling like you’re doing it all alone.

And I can’t overlook my clients. Every wedding teaches me something new—whether it’s about communication, timing, or adapting to unexpected changes. They’ve pushed me to refine my skills and raise the bar for what I deliver.
