We were lucky to catch up with Marisa Hurtado recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Marisa , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
From my parents and school when I was growing up. My parents would work from sun up to sun down and always told us that discipline and responsibility were necessary at work.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m an El Paso, Texas native. I’m a mom of four. I’m a multitasker! A writer, accountant, and business owner.
I also love to cook. I love to recreate recipes that impact me when I travel.
Super excited about this journey as a writer that has been in the works for years. My first book will be published soon.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I can multitask; that’s one of my skills. I have failed many times, but I’m confident about trying different things until I’m successful.
The advice I can give is don’t give up; keep going…
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
My husband has always supported me, so he is my biggest fan. He has also helped me overcome my challenges and fears. Has helped me learn new things along the way. We have been married for 18 years now…
