Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marissa Chappell . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marissa, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I think the biggest struggle we face is imposter syndrome. Self confidence is the literal key to success. Once i learned that i couldn’t develop professionally until i developed personally, i finally started to make it. It wasn’t just about telling myself i could do it, but more about actually believing it with every cell in my body. Once you develop your self love, the rest is easy! You no longer doubt yourself, and KNOW you can do it.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
When i started into the Esthetic industry, i definitely never thought this would be a lasting career for me. I decided to acquire my Master Esthetician license to help me with my Mortuary Science degree. Now 13 years later, i have a thriving business and school under me! Through my career, i have had two children and really jumped all in with being a mother! Finding the right balance of work and play was key for me. I love my clients and students. 5 years ago i developed a lash line with my best friend called Luna Bella Beauty. It’s been such a wild ride and i can’t wait to see where this career takes me!!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Dependability is the number one quality that most people are lacking today. If you can show up and be consistent you will create success for yourself. Remember to have customer service and to treat every single client with the value they deserve!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I have had so many people in my life that have helped me get to where i am today. My number one supporter will always be my husband, Kyle. He has believed in me from the very beginning. Having that kind of support is such a key role to success. I have had many mentors and friends that have offered their knowledge and skill. I am always learning and watching others around me. We are never too successful to learn more and acquire new skills!
