Meet Mark “Mystery” Gray

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mark “Mystery” Gray. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mark “Mystery”, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My generosity comes from God, but the one who showed and taught me about being kind comes from my grandmother. Her name is Thelma Elizabeth Gray. She have always told me “it’s better to give, and God will take care of the rest.” And that has been so true out of my 44 years of being on this earth. My grandmother is 94 years old and has plenty of love, wisdom and knowledge.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Well I’m a music producer, an actor, entertainment manager, and I’m a co-host on two podcasts. The first podcast show is called “The Back and Forth” William “Dolla Billsko is the host and also we have Curtis “Getmo” Moore. We also have a management team as well as a Publishing Company we are working on. Both companies are called Howell and Gray management. We also have a radio station 100.1FM in Nashville Tennessee. The other podcast is called “Heat level” it’s also the film company I work for as well. Wyqeem Abdallah Talib is the host and owner of heat level. We have interview a lot of people and one of my favorites are the Green brothers Rasheed and R. Saeed of Green company pictures in Atlanta Georgia. They have a tv show called “The Urbans” it’s a must see and very funny. Our oldest daughter Serenity Calhoun is an actress and she lives in California you guys should check her out.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The first one is being honest with yourself, the second is being real, and the third one is being willing to change. When you have those three you can’t go wrong, people love truth and genuine people that’s how trust is built. And always practice on your craft. But the number one thing is always and I mean always have God in your daily lifestyle and you will always come out on top.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
I read a lot of books. Matter of fact I’m thinking about making one of my rooms a library, I have books all over my home lol. But the Bible and the Torah has helped me through so much. The Torah is the old testaments but it’s in Hebrew. I believe if everyone read the Bible or the Torah they should read it slow so they can get a clearer and better understanding of what God is showing us instead of always expecting someone to tell us what God is saying.
