We recently connected with Mark Pang and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
Hmm, that’s a great question! I’d say what drives me the most in this industry is being around those who have already made it big. You see, my boundless optimism for the future comes from the invaluable lessons I’ve learned by rubbing elbows with the best in the business. Over the years, I’ve adapted my skills and gathered a wealth of knowledge that gives me the confidence to tackle any challenge the mortgage industry throws my way.
But it’s not just about what I know – it’s also about who I know. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to cross paths with some of the most successful lenders out there, and I’ve seized every opportunity to pick their brains and soak up their hard-won wisdom like a sponge. By surrounding myself with these high-achievers and doers, I’ve absorbed their winning mindsets and strategies.
Now, armed with this combination of skill, knowledge, and the secrets of success, I know it’s only a matter of time before I join their ranks and make my own mark on the industry. So I work every day with great optimism, secure in the knowledge that by staying consistent, doing the right things day in and day out, and never losing sight of my goals, failure simply isn’t an option.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi everyone, I’m Mark, also known as FundedByMark. As a dedicated mortgage broker, my mission is to help homeowners and investors secure the best financing options. By carefully analyzing my clients’ financial situations, I tailor loan solutions to meet their unique needs.
I started my career assisting first-time buyers in achieving the dream of homeownership – a journey that eventually led me to become a homeowner myself (with the help of my brother). To keep things simple, qualifying for a home loan boils down to three key factors: credit, income, and assets. Manage these elements properly, and you’ll be a homeowner before you know it.
However, I understand that life can sometimes set us back. Fortunately, there are many programs available to help bridge the gap, even if you only have one or two of the three factors in place. It may require more work, but with the right lender (me), it can be done.
In addition to guiding first-time buyers, I also help investors grow their portfolios. By leveraging home equity and utilizing specialized investor loan programs, I can assist you in acquiring cash-flowing rental properties or financing fix-and-flip projects. As a passionate real estate investor myself, I know that understanding the numbers is crucial to making smart, stress-free investment decisions.
Let me be your partner in your next home purchase or investment venture. I’m here to help you achieve your goals.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
In my opinion, the first essential skill to apply is “Putting Yourself Out There.” As Teddy Roosevelt wisely said, “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” You have to talk to people! Building genuine relationships is the foundation of success – it’s not just about offering a loan, but truly understanding your clients’ needs and guiding them to the best solutions. The more you connect with your clients, the better you can serve them with tailored support.
“Adaptability” is another critical skill. The mortgage industry is constantly evolving, with shifts in interest rates, lending guidelines, and housing market trends. Being able to navigate these changes confidently, while trusting your expertise, will ensure you continue serving clients effectively. This job requires flexibility – you may be meeting clients at their homes, interacting with their families and pets, or working from coffee shops or your car. You need to be mentally prepared for these shifts, always focused on getting the job done efficiently and professionally. Clients rely on your swift, competent service.
Lastly, and perhaps the most important skill is “Self-belief.” As Vince Lombardi said, “It’s not about how many times you get knocked down; it’s about how many times you get up.” You have to believe in yourself, even when things get tough. Achieving anything worthwhile requires sacrifice, persistence, and a strong mindset. The path to success is rarely smooth, but you must keep pushing forward, trusting the process and your work.
Bonus tip: don’t forget to enjoy the journey. Reaching your goals is rewarding, but the experiences and connections you make along the way are invaluable. It’s those moments that really matter, and they’ll stay with you long after you’ve achieved your goals.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking to grow my network! Collaboration and partnership are crucial in business, and so is effective marketing! In today’s world, your online presence serves as your virtual resume. Potential clients and partners often review your content to determine whether they want to work with you…or not! I fully understand the power of social media and have been pushing myself to be more active. Big shoutout to my cousin, @andrewtourssf, for all the tips and inspiration—he’s built a massive following over the years! Give him a follow.
If you’re a realtor, lender, title agent, or investor and you’re interested in collaborating to create some informative videos, I’m all in! I welcome cool content creator too! I’m down to create fun and random videos too (haha). I’ve seen “influencers” do incredible things and go to some of the coolest events, and I’d love to be apart of that.
