Meet Marketta Moore

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marketta Moore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marketta below.

Hi Marketta, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a lifetime of experiences, but my time in the military shaped it in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Serving for 22 years taught me how to navigate the unpredictable and adapt when control was out of reach. Resilience wasn’t a choice—it was a way of life.

As a military nurse, I had to juggle the demands of patient care with the responsibilities of managing my career, all while showing up as a wife and mom. It was never easy. The uncertainty and constant change that came with the military lifestyle pushed me to my limits, but it also made me stronger. I learned how to persevere, stay calm in the storm, and lead with clarity and compassion. Every challenge strengthened my resolve and helped me develop a deep sense of purpose, adaptability, and grit. Those lessons are the foundation of the resilience I carry with me today.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m Marketta Moore—a nurse, trauma-informed Breathwork facilitator, veteran, wife, and mom of four. I live on a small farm in Alabama, where life moves a little slower but is always full of purpose. The journey that brought me here hasn’t been a straight path, but every step has shaped the heart-centered work I do today.

In the military, I experienced firsthand how stress, burnout, and unprocessed trauma can take a toll on the mind, body, and spirit. Like many women balancing high-pressure careers, family, and personal goals, I found myself stuck in survival mode—disconnected from my own needs. That’s when I discovered Breathwork. It gave me space to reconnect with my body, regulate my nervous system, and release emotions I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. The transformation was life-changing, and I knew I had to share this powerful practice with others.

Today, I guide high-achieving women—moms, entrepreneurs, and military professionals—through Breathwork to help them move beyond overwhelm, release generational trauma, and reclaim their energy and vitality. What makes this work so meaningful is witnessing women rediscover their inner strength—not from external validation, but by realizing they are their own medicine.

I’m also passionate about partnering with functional medicine practitioners and health coaches to support their clients’ healing journeys, in addition to working one-on-one with clients. Through these collaborations and offerings, I hope to spark a ripple effect of healing and empowerment that extends far beyond my individual sessions.

More than anything, my story is one of resilience, healing, and hope. My mission is to remind women that they are worthy of rest, connection, and peace—and that those things are within reach when they learn to slow down, breathe, and trust the wisdom of their bodies.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey, I’d say resilience, self-awareness, and the ability to create connection have been the most impactful qualities that shaped who I am today. These strengths didn’t develop overnight, it took years of experience, challenges, and intentional growth to cultivate them.

Resilience is something the military taught me well. After years of navigating uncertainty, high-pressure environments, and constantly adapting to the unexpected, I learned that resilience isn’t about avoiding fear or stress—it’s about finding the strength to rise, no matter how hard things get. Don’t be afraid of discomfort. Lean into the hard moments, they’re where your growth happens. And remember, your breath can always be your anchor when things feel overwhelming.

Self-awareness was a game-changer for me. For years, I was in survival mode balancing a demanding career, family life, and personal goals without ever stopping to check in with myself. Discovering Breathwork helped me reconnect with my body and notice the emotions I had been suppressing. Self-awareness is foundational for growth. Take time to slow down, listen to your body, and honor what it’s telling you. Practices like Breathwork, journaling, or even a simple pause can help you cultivate this awareness—and that’s where real transformation begins.

Finally, connection has been the heart of everything I do. Whether it’s working with clients, collaborating with health professionals, or building community, I’ve learned that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen and heard. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: invest in relationships. Build authentic connections, listen deeply, and give more than you take. The power of community is real—lift others as you grow, and you’ll create ripples far beyond what you could do alone.

These qualities—resilience, self-awareness, and connection—are muscles you build with practice. Be patient with yourself, trust the process, and know that everything you need is already within you. Sometimes you just need to slow down, breathe, and believe in your own strength.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is a high-achieving woman, whether a mom, entrepreneur, or military professional, who feels stuck in survival mode. She balances relentless demands while silently struggling with burnout, overwhelm, or unprocessed emotions. Tired of surface-level solutions, she is ready for true, lasting transformation.

She may feel disconnected from her own needs but is open to using Breathwork to regulate her nervous system, release generational trauma, and reclaim her energy. What makes her ideal is her willingness to prioritize healing and commit to slowing down, reconnecting with her body, and trusting the process.

Ultimately, my ideal client is a woman ready to move beyond overwhelm, rediscover her inner strength, and breathe life into a more balanced, peaceful, and aligned existence.
