We were lucky to catch up with Marko Medic recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marko, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by staying curious and open to new experiences. I make it a point to explore things outside my usual scope—whether it’s reading, trying new hobbies, or collaborating with different creatives. I also believe in taking breaks when needed; stepping away often gives me a fresh perspective. For me, creativity thrives when you stay inspired and challenge yourself constantly.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m an Art Director and Photographer specializing in creating compelling visual narratives that blend artistic vision with strategic thinking. I love bringing unique concepts to life and crafting visuals that captivate and communicate effectively. Check out my portfolio at www.markomedic.xyz to explore my work.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been adaptability, storytelling, and a keen eye for detail. Moving from Croatia to New York taught me to embrace change, focus on authentic narratives, and refine my craft with precision.
For those starting out, my advice is to stay curious, tell your story authentically, and always pay attention to the details—they make all the difference.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been refining how I merge strategic thinking with creative execution. I’ve honed my ability to develop concepts that resonate deeply with audiences while managing collaborative projects and balancing multiple roles. It’s been a year of stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing challenges that have made me a more versatile creative.
