Meet Marlena Rucker

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marlena Rucker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Marlena, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose through my own growth journey. I was always the person people came to for encouragement, even while I was still figuring things out myself. Helping other women feel confident and supported showed me what I was meant to do. Pretty Girl University is really the space I wish I had earlier, a reminder that growth doesn’t have to be perfect.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a creative entrepreneur and the founder of Pretty Girl University. PGU started as an idea to create a safe, encouraging space for women who are growing, healing, and figuring things out in real time. It’s not about perfection or having it all together. It’s about learning, building confidence, and showing up for yourself consistently.

What feels most special about it is the community. PGU isn’t just content or products, it’s women connecting, supporting each other, and realizing they’re not alone in their journey. Everything we do is designed to feel welcoming, uplifting, and real.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding PGU through digital resources, curated classroom packages, and in-person experiences that bring the community together. We have new releases and events coming up that really lean into growth, self-care, and creativity, and I’m excited to continue building something that truly pours back into women.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the biggest things that impacted my journey were consistency, self-trust, and being willing to learn as I went. Consistency mattered more than having everything figured out. Just showing up, even when things felt unclear, made a huge difference. Self-trust was another big one. I had to learn to listen to my own ideas and stop waiting for permission or validation. And lastly, I stayed open to learning. I didn’t know everything starting out, I still don’t. I ask questions, and adjust along the way.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be to focus less on perfection and more on progress. Start before you feel ready, stay consistent even when growth feels slow, and give yourself room to learn and evolve. You don’t need all the answers, you just need to keep going.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I’m always open to connecting with people who genuinely align with the Pretty Girl University mission. I love collaborating with creatives, wellness leaders, educators, and brands focused on growth and community. Alignment matters more to me than numbers.

Anyone interested in collaborating can reach out through the contact form on the Pretty Girl University website or send us a direct message on Instagram. That’s the best way to start the conversation.
