Hi Marquis , great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risk at a very young age. Growing up in the inner city, the way that the surroundings were, it was almost like taking a risk just going outside everyday. It was dangerous. Also, at age 16, I discovered that I had a real passion for Music, so I decided to drop out of high school and pursue that passion. To me, that was like taking a huge risk, because at the time, I was the only one who thought that it was a good idea.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
First and foremost, I am a Music Producer. Music is my main passion. It’s what I Love the most. I’ve been doing Music for 18 years now. I have had the opportunity to produce Music for some well known, established music Artist in the industry like Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne & many more. The best thing about doing Music is that I’m able to share my art with people across the world and connect with them without ever even actually meeting them. That’s amazing to me.
I am also an Entrepreneur. I’ve started a company called Sun Love Organics. It’s based around health and wellness. Our main products right now are our Sea Moss Drinks. These drinks are amazing and they’re also great for you. They’re made with real fruits and all natural products that you can easily see and pronounce. Sea Moss is something that is becoming much more popular because of its health benefits. It’s a mineral rich food. We took it and mixed it with a few other ingredients to create these outstanding drinks. As of right now, we are stocking & retailing our drinks out of 3 locations in Cincinnati, Ohio. Roots Seeds & Oils is the most popular location. BlaCk Coffee Lounge & The Surfin Salmon also carry the drinks.
Right now, I’m working on expanding the Sun Love Organics business while also trying to figure out a way to brand these products along with my Music business so that they can become synonymous with each other.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being fearless & taking risk is the most important to me because I feel like great things can happen when you get out of your own way and allow them to happen. A lot of times, people are paralyzed by their own thoughts and overthinking. Just do it!
Be yourself at all times. Never try to be something or someone you’re not. I feel like being yourself is what’s going to open the right doors for you and get you to exactly where you need to be.
Be open minded. Being open minded definitely helped me along my journey. I was able to learn new skills and take in new information / knowledge along the way. Being open minded is a must because you have to keep learning if you want to keep growing.

I Am always looking to collaborate and connect with like minded individuals. I Love collaboration. I think it’s very important for growth and progression. I like to collaborate with people who understand the value of hard work, smart work and making sacrifices to reach their goals.
