Meet Marshall Nich0l

We were lucky to catch up with Marshall Nich0l recently and have shared our conversation below.

Marshall, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Truly I get my work ethic from fear.
I am afraid of disappointing the people who have invested so much into me. I am afraid of proving some people right, I am afraid of not being the man that other people need me to be.

I also get my work ethic from freedom. I was born into foster care (though I spent an very short time there). When your life begins like that, then by some divine intervention you end up in a situation like I have, you feel very free. Quite frankly, I don’t feel like I can lose in life, because I already won the lottery. I am free to fail because of the fact that I was so blessed. I have the obligation to make the most of what I have been given.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We are a cutting edge integrated functional medicine clinic focused on total wellness.

We identify 4 things that are most likely to kill you, or make your life generally less good-

1. Heart disease
2. Metabolic disease
3. Cancer.
4. Neurodegenerative disease

We have 5 main weapons against these ailments-

1. Exercise
2. Sleep
3. Nutrition.
4. Stress management
5. Medications, supplements, and other injectables, etc

So we take our patients through a detailed medical exam with a Dexa Scan, Metabolic test, Movement screen, extensive blood work and of course a physical examination.

With that I also blend progressive sports Chiropractic care, which includes modern therapies such as shockwave, dry needling, manipulation and of course exercise.

We are new to this, but I think we are onto something big.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Understand people, and understand what their incentive is. This will allow you (me) the ability to serve them best.

2. Be obsessed. I don’t think it is possible to be excellent at anything that you aren’t obsessed with.

3. Have high standards. The little things are the big things, and the big things are the biggest things. How you do anything is how you do anything.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents identified early in my life that I am a divergent thinker. They noticed that I would not be the type of person to go to school, make A’s, become a CPA, etc. They recognized that I would be the person with a messy desk, but that if I could be harnessed, there would be high potential and work rate. I am so thankful that they chose to develop my natural gifts rather than put me into a box of normalcy. I hope to do the same with my future children.
