Martha, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
“I have always been a strong woman, one who doesn’t yield to circumstances. Yes, I may cry like any other woman, but in the end, I’ll wipe away the tears and rise stronger than before!
Coming from a culture where women have to struggle day by day to move forward is what has given me the resilience to keep going. Additionally, I have the example of my mother and my grandmothers, whose lives have been far from easy.
The respect I feel for them goes beyond the bond of blood. Their life stories have been an example for me, helping me not give up and not let myself be defeated. I consider myself a warrior, thanks to them and the women who walked the path before me!”

My journey since 2022 has been a testament to resilience and passion, rising from the ashes of my husband’s passing in 2020. Starting with nothing to provide for my three children, the path has been arduous, but the pride I feel for what Nuvo, my company, has become is immeasurable.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience, but above all, I’m a mom; my primary motivation was to provide for my children. I previously worked as a Real Estate Investor alongside my husband, flipping houses. The knowledge gained from that experience has been instrumental in my current business.
My advice? Never cease learning the skills you require, prepare yourself, and persist in pursuing what you desire!
