Meet Martin Roseman

We recently connected with Martin Roseman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Martin , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My father was the cornerstone of my work ethic. During my formative years, he implemented a rigorous regimen for my academic endeavors, a routine that I initially met with resistance. On weekends, when my cousins relished their leisure, I accompanied my father around New York City, observing his relentless hustle. He might not have held traditional jobs with formal paychecks, but he was a living embodiment of hard work. Whether it was vending water, taking on shifts as a taxi driver, or trading used cars, I was by his side, absorbing invaluable lessons. This saying often comes to mind: “Idle hands are the devil’s playground.” It was the foundation he laid that anchored me, especially during turbulent times in my journey.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At the heart of my craft, I am an Immersive Designer. This role is an intricate blend of digital artistry, inventive thinking, deep-rooted herbalism, and a passion for crafting experiences that transport people into realms of wonder, evoking feelings of life’s magic, communal love, and togetherness. Utilizing skillsets like projection mapping, botanical mixology, sound healing, aromatherapy, and more.

I spearhead “Altered Senses,” an avant-garde experiential design group on a mission to shift perspectives through immersive multi-sensory escapades. Our latest brainchild is “PlayLab” – an immersive wellness gallery perched in Atlanta’s vibrant West End. Think of PlayLab as both a canvas for our experiments and a bridge connecting art, tech, and mindfulness. We’ve curated an environment that isn’t just about viewing art but living and feeling it, pushing boundaries of self-discovery and growth.

Championing inclusivity, innovation, and the richness of diverse voices, PlayLab, as a BIPOC-owned venture, is not just a gallery but a symbol of our community’s pulsating creativity and unity. Here, we seamlessly marry technology and nature, ensuring every visitor feels an innate connection. A highlight of our offerings includes our non-alcoholic botanical bar – a place where we concoct herbally-enriched drinks designed not just to quench thirst but elevate moods, setting the perfect tone for what lies ahead.

Dive into PlayLab’s world every Wednesday at 5 p.m. for “Wednesday Waves” – a one-of-a-kind experience where we translate your brainwaves into mesmerizing visuals using cutting-edge EEG technology. Our doors are always open for community-driven events celebrating both creatives and healers. To stay updated, give us a follow on Instagram [@the.playlab]. If you’re ever in the mood for a personal immersive experience, know that PlayLab can bring our world right to your doorstep.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three cornerstones have fortified my journey: grit, resilience, and faith. Grit spurred me to venture beyond the familiar and challenge the status quo. Resilience served as my compass during times when doubt clouded my vision or external voices questioned my path. Faith, however, was the keystone. It wasn’t just about trusting my purpose and dreams, but it was a profound belief in the larger tapestry of life where each thread, including mine, had a definitive purpose.

For those embarking on their own quests, I can’t emphasize enough the importance of holistic healing – mentally, spiritually, and physically. Mentally, immerse yourself in self-awareness and growth; the books, and the workshops, they’re not just processes but pathways. Spiritually, find your anchor, something larger than oneself. It not only eases the weight off your shoulders but infuses your journey with purpose beyond the visible. Physically, train to challenge yourself, to push past limits just as you would during that last intense rep in a workout session.

As you nurture these aspects, you’ll find a beautiful alignment in your daily actions and attitude. And remember, “how you do anything, is how you do everything.” This adage has been my North Star, reminding me that every action, no matter how trivial, echoes into the vastness of life.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Surprisingly, one of the most influential figures in my journey has been my ex-partner of five years. As a coach and trainer, she had an innate ability to navigate the intricacies of personal growth. When we crossed paths, I was navigating life with a more juvenile mindset, often held hostage by past traumas and narratives. With wisdom and patience, she shifted my perspective, making me realize that life’s events could unfold for me, not just to me. She didn’t just nurture the latent leadership within me but ignited a fire beneath the dreams I was merely contemplating. Metaphorically, she presented a door before me, subtly hinting that I’ve always held the key. The romantic chapter may have concluded, but she left a permanent mark on my life’s trajectory.
