We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Martin White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Martin, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose from the environment I grew up in. I come from a small city in Eastern North Carolina that was once a pillar of the state. But as years has passed and times have changed the dynamics of the city has changed dramatically. However working in Corporate America I noticed quickly a huge divide and scarcity of financial literacy in my community. I became very dedicated to educate and bring awareness to this particular matter. But in my opinion I think purpose comes in seasons. My purpose was way different in my younger days than it is now. But surrounding myself with like minded people and positive people played a major role in finding my purpose. Over the years I have found my skills, talents, and passions also helped me to tap into my purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Martin White I am the owner of Envision Professionals where we are the one stop shop for all your business and financial services needs. My business is based out of Kinston, North Carolina and we are growing and growing. We work with a range of clients servicing not only in North Carolina but in all 50 states. We believe that service is the most important part of everything. We pride ourselves in providing great customer service as well as driving results. Although we are a young company we have provided top quality service to a number of prestigious clients. Some of the services we provide are startup business services, business consulting, credit repair, grant writing, etc to name a few of the popular services. We really provide an array of many different business services and financial services. When you come to see us I guarantee you walk out with everything you need to be successful in your endeavors.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities I believe were impactful in my journey is problem solving, professionalism/worth ethic, and leadership. Challenges will arise no matter where you are in life. Whether in your business, or your job or even in school. You’ll want to have the ability to analyze issues, make sound decisions and overcome problems. People want to see you demonstrate personal accountability for your actions and work habits. My advice for folks who are early in their journey. Be sure to show up on time, work productively with others and understand the impact of your non-verbal communication. Take responsibility and learn from your mistakes to show integrity and ethical behavior. I’m a people person, very outgoing, very resourceful. But I take pride in being a leader. There is a huge difference between being a boss and being a leader.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
While there is no ideal client because clients can vary widely. We are looking for clients that are ready to take that leap into entrepreneurship. We are looking for clients that already have a business and need our help to make their business grow. We are also looking for individuals that are looking to change their financial situation. We have helped numerous people get their business off the ground and become successful in their particular industries. We have helped numerous people get their finances back on track from repairing credit. Assisting them thru that process to help them purchase homes, refinance cars, and become financial stable. We’ve helped business owners acquire business funding by way of grants and business loans. We’ve done job portfolios for clients to help them land jobs in this tough economy. We are making a huge impact in our community and I’m excited to provide value. I’m excited and happy about this interview because it is more work to be done. There are more lives that we can help and a lot more people that need our services. Hopefully after reading this interview they will come to us to make that chance.
