Marty, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Discovering my purpose was a journey marked by years of trial and error, ultimately leading me to a profound understanding. I’ve always had a deep desire to create something meaningful that would positively impact my community. Through the commitment to my craft, I gradually understood the true extent of my abilities. And as I immersed myself in this process of self-discovery, I realized that my purpose extended beyond personal growth. It encompassed the responsibility to share my knowledge and empower others through teaching and multiplying the impact I could make.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a media, marketing, and communications thought leader who brings a fresh perspective to the ever-evolving marketing industry. With a background as a strategy consultant for over 10 years, I have developed an innovative blueprint for nurturing creative professionals. My expertise extends across five target markets: affordable housing, technology, small business, nonprofit, and local government.
What sets me apart is my strong desire to foster a vibrant urban creative community. This has led me to establish a creative collective of young professionals who collaborate on projects, organize events, and inspire the next generation of creative marketers.
My ultimate goal is to make a lasting impact on the community by creating endless opportunities, imparting skill mastery, and empowering creative professionals to excel in their fields. As the founder of Haus & Company, I have created a creative workforce ecosystem where serial entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, media mavens, and urban creatives can learn, collaborate, and create together in a carefully curated co-living environment.
We pride ourselves on pioneering the “Create-Your-Own-Space” lifestyle model, catering to aspiring influencers, change makers, and talented individuals in creative communities worldwide. Our mission is to provide a platform for them to thrive, make a difference, and shape the future of their respective industries.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Persistence: The ability to persevere through challenges, setbacks, and failures is crucial. It’s important to maintain focus and keep pushing forward, even when faced with obstacles or self-doubt. My advice for those starting their journey is to embrace perseverance as a mindset. Cultivate resilience, learn from failures, and let setbacks fuel your determination to keep going.
Continuous Learning: A commitment to ongoing learning and personal growth is vital. The world is constantly evolving, and staying updated with the latest trends, technologies, and industry insights is essential for success. Actively seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge through books, courses, workshops, mentorship, and networking. Embrace a growth mindset and never stop acquiring new skills and knowledge.
Networking and Collaboration: Building a strong network of like-minded individuals and fostering collaborations can be a game-changer. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you, and share similar goals and passions. Collaborative projects and partnerships can lead to valuable opportunities, knowledge exchange, and exponential growth. My advice to those starting their journey is to actively cultivate these qualities and skills. Embrace persistence, commit to continuous learning, and invest in building meaningful relationships.
