Meet Marvelous Marissa Daniel

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marvelous Marissa Daniel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Marvelous Marissa , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin I had severe low self-esteem. I was constantly bullied, harassed and teased for talking proper in school. I was told to my face that I was too big to pursue media or that I didn’t know how to enunciate my words. I was often degraded and taken advantage of by men and this really damaged my self-esteem. However, I prayed that God would deliver me from low self-esteem and heal my broken heart. I started attending church more often and God placed people in my life who encouraged me and prayed with me. It was a journey to get my smile back but I am happy that God has healed my heart, I am no longer broken and he has blessed me with so many opportunities that I am currently pursuing my dreams. The enemy wanted me to commit suicide and to give up, but God had another plan for my life. To anyone who is struggling with their self-esteem or who lacks confidence, I encourage you to see yourself the same way that God sees you. He created you fearfully and wonderfully made, and please know that God does not make mistakes. Remind yourself that you are destined for greatness and he has a specific purpose for you to fulfill. Release everything that people have said or done to you and give it to God. He will vindicate you in front of your enemies. It is important that you know your worth and don’t compare yourself to anyone, embrace your journey, your beauty, your temple and your gifts. I am proud to announce to the world that I have overcome low self-esteem by the grace of GOD. If he can fully delivered me, he is the same God that can do that for you.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Marvelous Marissa Daniel and I am an Author/TV Host/Motivational Speaker and I am known as the “hostest with the mostest.” I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with tears of joy on May 21, 2012, with my undergraduate degree in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio, TV, and Film. I am the Executive Producer/Host of my television show, “Broken into Beautiful” that has aired on WATC, People TV and AIB. I was a television host for Atlanta Live on WATC TV 57 for two years and a faithful prayer room partner. I encouraged people on television to call in for prayer and to give their lives to Christ. I had the pleasure of interviewing ministers, authors, entrepreneurs, movie producers and musicians. I am currently a television journalist for TV One’s hit show, “Fatal Attraction.”

I was the first Gospel radio host for IBNX Radio Network in Atlanta, GA. In 2019, I hosted “The Praise in You” gospel radio show every Sunday from 3pm-5pm on IBNX radio.com. “The Praise in You” gospel radio show ranked at one of the top five shows on the network. My television talk show, “Broken into Beautiful” has become such an inspiration that I was awarded the 2018 Power Award from the Girl Power 3 NOW Conference and I was the Media Honoree at the 2021 All Star Media & Music Awards Celebration. I was also recognized by my alma mata as a “Distinguished Alumni” in 2017 from Clark Atlanta University.

In June 2020, I published my first book entitled, “From Brokenness to Marvelous,” and I recently published my second memoir, “From Brokenness to Marvelous Part 2 The Mask has been Removed.” Both of my books is based on my life’s experiences and how God has blossom me from a broken little girl into a marvelous woman of God.
I am often booked for motivational speaking engagements and hosting opportunities. I was the Mistress of Ceremony for the 2019 Lupus Gala and the 2020 Walk to End Lupus Now Rally. I was also the red-carpet correspondent for the RICE Awards, I Will Survive Incorporated Fashion Show, 2022 Emmanuel Cantata and the Auctioneer Host for the 10th,11th and 12th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala. Not to mention, I have done radio commercials on 102.5 Good News Gospel for Regal Nissan Dealership in Roswell, Georgia I hosted the, “Here’s What’s Happening” segment on 104.7 The Fish in Atlanta, GA. I live by my favorite scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, Lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways remember him and he shall direct your path smooth and straight,” Proverbs chapter 2 verses 5-7.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities that have helped me in my media career so far is my ambitious spirit, my drive for success and my hardworking attitude. I enjoy marketing and promoting my brand. These three qualities have helped me get booked for major speaking/hosting engagements throughout the southern region. I have also hosted live television shows, hosted international concerts and hosted segments on a major syndicated gospel station here in Atlanta,Georgia. My best advice to anyone that is interested in pursuing media or who wants to write a book, is to stay FOCUS. Don’t be afraid to market yourself. You must first believe in yourself, before anyone else can believe in you and make sure that God is in EVERYTHING you do. If he is in it, you will succeed and he will open up doors for you that no man can shut. I am a living testimony to do this! God has put me on major platforms and I am now a national television journalist for TV One’s hit show, “Fatal Attraction,” and I have published two books. My resume is constantly growing and I’m even more excited for the future. You will face some challenging discouraging moments, but don’t give up, God is with you and he will see you through it.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My mother, Laverne Lardydell, has made such a major impact in my life especially throughout these last eight years since she has moved here with me in Georgia. My mother packed up all her belongings in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Atlanta on July 5, 2014. During that time, I was broken, depressed, hurt and contemplated suicide. God answered my prayer when I cried out to him and told him that I needed help. It surprised me when my mother decided to move to Georgia to be here with me. She helped me overcome some of the struggles I was facing and she reminded me everyday of who I am in Christ Jesus. My mother helped me in many ways that she will never know. When she moved down here, the wrong people who were in my life disappeared. I started to excel on my job and I got my confidence back. My mother motivated me, encouraged me and she witnessed me step out on faith to accomplished my dreams. She was my very first guest on my talk show called, “Broken into Beautiful” that has aired on several networks here in Atlanta, Georgia. She attends all of my speaking engagements, book signings and she sat in the audience and watched me moderate a crime story on a national television network. I love both of my parents and I thank God for them both. However, I want to take this time to say, “I love you mom and thank you for EVERYTHING! I thank GOD for sending you down here to be here with me because the enemy wanted to destroy me, but GOD sent an earthly angel to help blossom me into the marvelous woman I am today! I thank God that he restored our relationship and brought us back together. Thank you for making such a major impact in my life.
