Meet Marwa Taha

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marwa Taha. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marwa below.

Marwa, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?

My generosity stems from a deep-rooted belief in the power of connection and community. Throughout my life, I have witnessed the profound impact that acts of kindness can have on individuals and their surroundings. This understanding fuels my desire to share my resources, time, and knowledge with others. Professionally, I prioritize collaboration and mentorship, striving to uplift those around me by creating opportunities for growth and development. Whether it’s offering my expertise to colleagues, volunteering for local initiatives, or mentoring aspiring professionals, I find fulfillment in contributing to a positive environment. I believe that by investing in others, we foster a sense of belonging and support that encourages everyone to thrive. This culture of generosity not only enriches my personal and professional life but also inspires those around me to embrace a spirit of giving, creating a ripple effect that strengthens our community as a whole.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hello, my name is Marwa Taha, and I am a graduate, having completed my degree in December 2022. I am now embarking on an exciting journey of self-discovery. Initially, I pursued a path in physical therapy, driven by a desire to help others heal and improve their quality of life. While physical therapy still remains in the back of my mind as a potential career, I find myself open to exploring other options that align with my evolving interests and passions. During this period of reflection, I discovered a profound love for photography. What began as a simple interest quickly blossomed into a vibrant passion that allows me to capture the beauty of everyday moments and tell compelling stories through images. I am eager to expand my horizons by working in diverse areas such as weddings, sports, and landscape photography, as I believe these experiences will challenge me creatively and help me grow as an artist. As I continue to navigate my journey, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, blending my interests in physical therapy and photography while remaining receptive to new opportunities that may come my way. Embracing this path of growth and exploration, I am committed to honing my skills in photography while also keeping an open mind to the lessons and experiences that life has to offer.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back on my journey, I would say that three qualities have been particularly impactful: adaptability, creativity, and empathy.

1. Adaptability: The ability to pivot and embrace change has been crucial. As I shifted from physical therapy to photography, I learned to remain open to new experiences and opportunities. My advice for those early in their journey is to cultivate a mindset that welcomes change. Embrace uncertainty and view challenges as opportunities for growth.

2. Creativity: Photography has allowed me to explore my creative side and think outside the box. Developing a creative mindset can enhance problem-solving skills in any field. For those starting out, I recommend engaging in creative exercises, experimenting with different mediums, or even collaborating with others to inspire fresh ideas.

3. Empathy: Understanding others’ perspectives has enriched both my photography and my interactions in the professional world. Empathy fosters connection, whether with clients or collaborators. To nurture this quality, practice active listening, seek feedback, and engage in community activities that expose you to diverse experiences and viewpoints.

By focusing on these areas, individuals can build a strong foundation for their journey. Remember, it’s not just about where you end up, but also how you grow along the way. Stay curious, be open to learning, and trust in your ability to adapt and thrive.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been in my confidence as a photographer. Initially, I was hesitant to share my work and often doubted my skills. However, through consistent practice, feedback from peers, and actively seeking opportunities to showcase my photography—whether through social media, community events, or collaborations—I’ve learned to embrace my unique perspective and style. This journey has not only improved my technical skills but also allowed me to develop a more authentic voice in my work. As I’ve gained confidence, I’ve also become more open to experimenting with different genres, from portraits to landscapes, which has enriched my creative repertoire. This growth has taught me the importance of perseverance and the value of stepping outside my comfort zone, and I’m excited to continue evolving as an artist.
