We recently connected with Mary Buckingham and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.
Anything that is blocking us is related to stuck energy. It can be emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, etc. Practices like self awareness, Breathwork and meditation are essential tools to help me identify what is keeping the flow from flowing. Somatic awareness and attunement to the subtle energy field is so key!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
It’s hard to describe what I do because I don’t love confining things to labels. We’re complex beings and things beyond the material are not black and white. I have the ability to see, feel, hear and know into the energy field (clairvoyant, clairsentient, clairaudient and claircognizant)… I share my capacity with clients primarily to assist them in understanding their own Self healing abilities, to become the master of their own Self. I close my eyes the entire time someone is in a session and drop into a highly concentrated state to allow the information to flow through me.
My group work involves facilitating Breathwork, trained by my teacher David Elliott. I also facilitate something called KAP which stands for Kundalini Activation Process through The KAP Academy ran by Venant Wong.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think sensitivity, compassion and empathy for oneself and humanity is essential. If we aren’t sensitive to ourselves, we are not in touch with our Soul and can get out of alignment quickly. I’ve always been strongly connected to my Soul essence. I feel it more strongly leading me than my intellect and it has guided me through life that generally don’t go along with the status quo. However, when you understand the language of the Soul, it guides you through the spaces that do not make sense to the 3rd dimensional realm. Staying true to Self, to know Thyself, is something I strongly value. If there is nobody doing what you’re doing, it may feel radical, but will yield results that will allow you to be liberated from suffering. I stand by living the artist’s way.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Remove all distractions and sit with the discomfort until you have managed your mind enough to “switch stations”. Immerse yourself in a meditative activity to transcend the mind that is beating you down from the inside out. This may take minutes, days or months. Release judgment from the process and tap into your inner essence, we all have it, and its strength is something that will only continue to introduce itself to you as you’re ready.
