Meet Mary Cameron Rogers

We were lucky to catch up with Mary Cameron Rogers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary Cameron , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

Finding your purpose is something very personal and can be quite vulnerable. I think we all grow up wanting to do better and to do more, but at the end of the day, it’s about what really makes you happy and fulfills your heart, what you can look back on and be absolutely proud of. Your life will really help your purpose come to surface In different ways if you keep aiming towards your goals. I understand there is a lot of fear going after what makes you feel the most alive, But getting through that makes you realize how special your purpose is. Life has thrown me a lot of ups and downs, but I try Hard every day to align my life with what I really love. There was a moment in my life, as I got older and had experienced beyond what I ever thought could be possible, to really sit back and reflect on what I truly want to focus on and the people surrounding me are a major reflection in that. You definitely want to find a great tribe that lifts you up and only want the best for you, because I know, not only do I strive to always work on my purpose individually, but I have people in my life that are a constant reminder and cheering me on. Stay in your lane and stay focused in what you genuinely love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a small town girl from North Carolina living in a big creative city in California.
My main focus right now is acting, producing all sorts of projects and I also own my own hair and makeup business.

Living in Los Angeles has given me the chance to plug into the largest, most diverse creative community I have ever had the chance to work with. I find myself working with insanely talented artists from all over the world.

I have a huge passion for travel and have had the pleasure of experiencing different cultures around the world. These experiences have shaped me into the artist I am today.

My goal is to always approach my work with respect and professionalism. Sometimes I find myself having to catch my breath because all I want to do is create create create.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Stay focused, come from a place of love and have fun.
We are only here on this earth for a short journey, and I truly believe those three things I noted above. If you have a dream and you feel like you’re walking through fire to get there, just remember to not lose sight of what brings you joy. The entertainment business, especially can be very confusing and scary, sometimes we all get off track and that’s a part of being human, but getting back on track is the hard part and once you do that, you really show yourself how persistent you are, You will be able to handle a lot more than you think you can!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

This topic is a big one for me!
I’m so grateful To my parents, my mentors and my friends. I moved to Los Angeles at a very young age/I told my parents I would be back in 2 to 3 weeks and ended up staying. (Which was a very big surprise to me )
They continued to love and support me through my journey, even though of course they wanted me back. I also didn’t realize how hard it would be to re-create a community when I moved. But I found that I created such a loving environment around me and I still have friends in my life that I met 12 years ago. I think one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is finding people in your life that elevate you, encourage you and love you for who you are.
