Meet Mary Haberski

We recently connected with Mary Haberski and have shared our conversation below.

Mary, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
As my mom would say, life has not been easy for me, but it has been good to me. Today I want to share a little bit of my story in hopes it can support you and your mental health journey.

After lunching my website last week so much came to the surface for me.

I wasn’t just reminded of the accomplishments that I have achieved over the past decade, but I became more deeply aware and dedicated to WHY I am doing the work that I’m doing in the world.

If a person like me, who has endured physical, emotional, sexual abuse and trauma, has been able to reach tens of thousands of people (and counting) to inspire them to live a greater life, than literally ANYTHING is possible for YOU.

I stand before you, a woman who has suffered depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation in childhood to early adulthood, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, self harm, addiction, abusive romantic relations, incredibly low self-esteem, and felt like I was completely talentless. I was so….lost.

I worked jobs I hated. I was “the help” and scrubbed floors and toilets in order to build my dreams to become who I am today.

And who I am today was consciously created, not the result of what happened to me. My life has been a co-creation, with the support of many teachers/mentors/coaches/guides. And I’m STILL overcoming and creating! ♾️

I share this with you, because none of these things about my past are what make me special. Sadly, these are the things that make me like most people. However, what I can say with confidence about myself and all the people I have worked with is; allowing excuses and the past to hold us back is not an option… And the same can be true for you.

I made investments in myself that I didn’t know would actually work for me. I trusted in myself and in the process. I sought out teachers and people who could help me to move past the pains of my past to step into a brighter future. And I see it as a sacred duty to do the same for others.

If I was capable of overcoming all of this to become a person who has served 10’s of thousands of people around the world, been written about, and awarded for my work, then what is available for YOU is LIMITLESS!

I’ve dedicated my life to serving others, because they are, and I am, living proof of the unbreakable will of the human spirit. I’m here to remind and awaken you to that truth. You are not broken.

Seeing people overcome themselves and their past is my WHY! I am deeply inspired by their dedication, resiliency, and transformation. I am obsessed with being in loving support of people becoming MORE than what they ever dreamed they could be! Seeing what they overcome and accomplish is beyond uplifting.

Your past and pain are only part of your story- not your full story. And it’s never too late…in fact you are right on divine time.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Beloved fellow travelers on the path of personal growth and self-discovery,

I want to share with you some heartfelt guidance on how to nurture and enhance three invaluable qualities that can propel you forward in your journey of self-improvement and success: grit and resilience, letting go of excuses and the past, and cultivating compassion.

Grit and Resilience:

Life is an adventure filled with unexpected challenges and thrilling opportunities. Grit and resilience are your trusty companions on this voyage. They are the unwavering determination that keeps you going when life feels like it’s tearing you down. They are the fire in your belly that refuses to be extinguished, no matter the storms. it’s about falling and getting up again, no matter how many times that happens.

Embrace your setbacks, your failures, and your doubts as stepping stones, not stumbling blocks. Every obstacle you overcome is a testament to your strength and a golden opportunity. Every time you get back up after a fall, you’re growing more resilient.

The road to success is not a smooth one, but your grit will light the way, and your resilience will be your guiding star. So, when life tests your limits, stand tall, be resilient, and keep moving forward. Always remember the unbreakable strength of your spirit!

Letting Go of Excuses and the Past:

The past is a place for lessons, not a residence. It’s tempting and natural to dwell on past mistakes, regrets, or missed opportunities, you’re wired this way to keep you safe. However, this can chain you to the past and hinder your progress and you are capable of over-riding this system.

Excuses are a disguise for fear and self-doubt. Don’t let them hold you back from your full potential. Break free from the bonds of excuses and the ghosts of the past. You are not defined by your history; you are defined by the choices you make NOW.

Your future is a blank canvas, waiting for you to paint it with your dreams, your efforts, and your courage. Look ahead with determination, and let the past be a distant echo, not a thunderous roar. As they say, excuses are self abuses. They are simply self imposed limitations to keep you safe in the familiar past, not your bright and radiant future!

Cultivating Compassion:

Compassion is the magic elixir that can transform not only your life but the world around you. It’s the wellspring of kindness, empathy, and understanding. When you embrace compassion, you open your heart to the suffering of others and extend a helping hand to those in need. And it all starts with self. Once you realize that you have and will always be doing the best that you can with the level of consciousness you have in the moment, you free yourself with the profound power of love. You realize that you and everyone else is doing the best that they can. Your love for yourself and everyone else blossoms

Remember that we’re all on different paths, facing our unique struggles. Compassion connects us as humans, reminding us that we’re part of a greater whole. By showing kindness to others, you create a ripple effect that can change lives and communities for the better. Compassion doesn’t excuse poor behavior, but rather views it from the lens of love.

The compassion you extend to others will return to you in the form of profound connections, more fulfilling relationships, shared growth, and a deep sense of fulfillment. So, open your heart wide, and let compassion be your guiding light.

In your journey, always remember that you are capable of greatness, and these qualities—grit and resilience, shedding excuses and the past, and cultivating compassion—are your tools to carve your own path towards success and happiness. Keep the fire of determination burning in your heart, and let your journey be an inspiration to all those who follow in your footsteps.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Over the past 12 months, my journey of self-discovery and transformation has taken me through the deepest valleys and up to the highest peaks of personal growth. If I had to pinpoint the single most significant area of growth and improvement, it would undoubtedly be my triumph over two formidable adversaries: over-giving in my purpose and career, which led to burnout, and my long-standing battle with unhealthy romantic relationships. Though I would have to say the deep pain of the transformation started to highlight itself 2 years ago.

In the realm of my purpose and career, I used to overextend myself, giving every ounce of my energy, time, and passion to the pursuit of success. It wasn’t that I lacked dedication or ambition; on the contrary, my ambition was boundless. However, I learned the hard way that there’s a fine line between dedication and self-destruction. I pushed myself to the brink, ignoring the telltale signs of burnout that whispered, “You need to slow down.” But in the past year, I’ve come to understand the power of balance. It was the infinite intelligence of my body this time, giving me the clues saying if you don’t pause, something terrible will happen to me. So finally I listened.

I’ve realized that my well-being is not a price to pay for success; it’s an essential part of the journey. I’ve learned to nurture myself, set boundaries, and embrace the power of saying “no” when necessary. I’ve discovered that my best work arises from a place of equilibrium, and it’s here that I’ve found true fulfillment. I think one of the things people are usually most suprised by how boundaried of a person I am. How can a person this kind and generous be so firm they wonder? Allow me to tell you. It’s called self care and self love in action baby!

But perhaps the most profound transformation has taken place within the landscape of my romantic relationships. For far too long, I allowed unhealthy patterns to repeat themselves. I struggled with insecurities and clung to relationships that were toxic, simply because they were familiar. It was as though I was drawn to chaos, mistaking it for passion. I got to the root of the issue. It took a significant amount of self-reflection, heartache, and courage to break free from this cycle, but I did it. I relentlessly studied relationships and got help from the outside. I stopped ignoring red flags, built my self worth and I got crystal clear about my values and non-negotiables. I thought this area of life would never be healed. And while all relationships push us to grow I am proud to say I now have a healthy attachment style.

In the past year, I’ve deeply invested in myself, not as an act of selfishness, but as an act of self-love. I’ve embraced my worth, standing tall in my own completeness. I’ve let go of relationships that no longer served my growth and welcomed those that align with my values and aspirations.

These transformative experiences have awakened a sense of empowerment within me. I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of balance, the strength in self-worth, and the resilience that emerges when you conquer the battles within. The past 12 months have not only been a journey of growth; they have been a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for renewal and transformation. I stand here today, secure in my purpose, and surrounded by healthy relationships, ready to face the world with a newfound sense of strength, gratitude, and resilience. I am approaching my work from a place of sustainability and balance, and am again ready to be of service!
