We were lucky to catch up with MaryAnna Clemons recently and have shared our conversation below.
MaryAnna, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
Haters feed my soul. Misery loves company and I refuse to give into the division that feeds our social media and our 24-hour news cycle. One of the ways I do this is to remember the “WHY” I choose to do things.
Our inner “why’s” are about our inner passions, our inner purpose, our goals, values and desires. Why worry about the haters as you strive to set examples for your children or even for yourself!
I journal a lot as well and within that space, I examine what drives me forward. I look for missing motivation and then I have conversations with myself – because if I have to “motivate” myself on purpose, maybe it’s not for me and I’m operating from a broken perspective. If and when that happens, I pivot. I no longer make any excuses for my plot twists as well. If it suits me and it doesn’t negatively affect others, then let’s rock and roll!
Additionally, I have thick skin. As a writer and previous journalist, rejection is a daily occurrence. That was one person’s opinion in one small slice of time that you’re not even likely to remember five years from now. Take what resonates, work on the parts that are actually helpful and move on. Focusing on your strengths is another trick to keep up your spirits. If I’m not good at golf, why go play golf? If I am good at writing, then I do that. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll try new things and I’ll find new hobbies, but I’m not going to keep going back to something that sucks the joy out of me and that includes people.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a medium and an animal communicator (alive and passed), I bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms, providing comfort and clarity to both humans and animals. I offer mediumship readings to connect individuals with loved ones who have crossed over, offering messages of love, guidance, and healing. My animal communication sessions help pet parents better understand their furry, feathered, or scaled companions, addressing behavioral issues, emotional concerns, and even health problems from the animal’s perspective.
What I find most exciting is witnessing the profound transformation that occurs when people connect with their loved ones in spirit or gain deeper insights into their animal’s world. These connections bring healing, closure, and a renewed sense of purpose. I’m constantly in awe of the love and wisdom that flows through these interactions, reminding us that we are all interconnected.
In addition to my private sessions, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and experiences through workshops and online courses. I believe that everyone has the potential to develop their intuitive abilities and deepen their connection with the animal kingdom. My upcoming animal communication course starts in August and is designed to empower individuals to tap animals and become animal communicators!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My journey as a medium and animal communicator has been deeply influenced by my chaotic and abusive childhood. While the experience was undoubtedly traumatic, it also served as a catalyst for developing the empathy and intuition that are crucial to my work.
The three most impactful qualities in my journey have been:
1. Extreme Empathy: Growing up in a turbulent environment heightened my sensitivity to the emotions of others, both humans and animals. This hypersensitivity, while painful at times, allows me to deeply connect with my clients and their loved ones, both in the physical and spiritual realms.
2. Resilience: Overcoming adversity taught me the importance of perseverance and inner strength. These qualities are essential for navigating the emotional intensity of my work and for holding space for others in their pain and grief.
3. Open-mindedness: My experiences have led me to question conventional wisdom and embrace alternative perspectives. This open-mindedness is crucial for approaching the spiritual realm with curiosity and a willingness to explore the unknown.
For those early in their journey, I offer the following advice:
• Cultivate empathy: Practice active listening, seek to understand different perspectives, and put yourself in others’ shoes. Engage in volunteer work or other activities that expose you to diverse experiences and challenges.
• Build resilience: Face your fears, step outside your comfort zone, and learn from your mistakes. Develop healthy coping mechanisms for stress and emotional challenges. Seek support from mentors, therapists, or support groups if needed.
• Embrace open-mindedness: Challenge your assumptions, question your beliefs, and explore new ideas. Read widely, engage in discussions with people from different backgrounds, and be willing to consider alternative explanations for the mysteries of life.
Remember, your journey is unique. Embrace your experiences, both positive and negative, as they shape your path and contribute to your growth as a medium and animal communicator. By cultivating empathy, resilience, and open-mindedness, you can develop the skills and intuition necessary to connect with anyone and anything on a deep and meaningful level.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
My passion for animal communication and mediumship extends beyond individual sessions. I’m eager to collaborate with animal rescues, zoos, and sanctuaries to improve the lives of animals under their care. By understanding their emotional states, physical ailments, and past traumas, we can create more enriching environments and tailor care plans to their specific needs.
Additionally, I’m deeply motivated to continue applying my skills to forensic mediumship, working alongside law enforcement and private investigators on cold-cases, murder cases and really any case that has reached a point where law enforcement is stumped and needs questions answered. While I understand my role is not to solve cases or provide admissible evidence, I have proven that my unique abilities can offer valuable insights and generate new leads. By communicating with the energy and people involved in crimes or missing people cases, I can potentially uncover crucial information that may have been overlooked.
In these collaborations, my focus is on bringing forward previously unknown details, validating existing information, and brainstorming new avenues of investigation. I am committed to working within ethical and legal boundaries, respecting the sensitive nature of these cases, and ultimately, aiding in the pursuit of justice. I firmly believe that by combining my intuitive skills with traditional investigative methods, we can create a powerful force for positive change.
