Meet Marz Jones

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marz Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marz below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Marz with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Growing up watching my mom and dad putting in long hours at the job, then come home and still make time to prepare dinner and make sure I had the necessary things to succeed. I’d say I get my work ethic directly from those two important people in my life. Seeing it firsthand allowed me to grow into the man I am today.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

With over 15 years of experience within the photography/creative industry, I take huge pride in the work I’m able to produce personally and professionally. I’ve served many clients over the years from engagements, weddings, portraits, events and editorial photography. Currently I’m working on my own personal projects as well as continuing to serve my clients on a weekly/monthly basis. I am also planning to begin selling prints of my work and creating photo books.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Tenacity, perseverance, and patience. The journey can take time to reach the point where you feel successful, where your work starts to speak to people. Don’t give up on your goals because of a rough patch or when you lose a little bit of that motivation. Keep pushing through and great opportunities will present themselves.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I would love to collaborate with local artists, clothing brands, photo studios, and other forms of creative spaces. If anyone is interested in working with me, please check out my Instagram or website: @marz.jones or www.marzjonesstudio.com.
