Meet Mateo Lopez

We recently connected with Mateo Lopez and have shared our conversation below.

MATEO , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from the foundation that my family has. I have always been taught that if I want to be the best I have to work very hard at it. Practicing, learning and always doing my best is something I live by.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Mateo Adalberto López. I am recognized at the Guiness world record holder for the world’s youngest professional Mariachi. 4years old 236 days. I am now 9 years old. I have been singing as far as I can remember, but got noticed at 4 years old. I was invited to compete on Mexico tiene Talento where I made it to the finals. Since then I have sang in many stages to include with Kelly Clarkson on the Kelly Clarkson show.
The most exciting thing about what I do is entertaining people and meeting really great people . Also representing my Mexican culture and music.
You can see me next at my concert September 28,2024 concert at our lady of the Lake University, September 13, 2024 at market square for the fiestas patrias or on October 6, 2024where I will be singing the national anthem for the San Francisco 49s Hispanic heritage game.
Also you can find my music on all music platforms

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back I believe that a great quality to have is to always remain humble. Always remember to thank the support staff. The light, sound, security. Everyone that helps you look, sound and keeps you safe. All these people almost always get overlooked.

Practice, practice, practice. Almost no one like it but it’s the most important part of being a successful musician.

Reading about the history of your music. So you educate yourself on your music.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The most helpful people in my life are my Parents. Because I am so young , my parents are responsible for my success. They have supported me and guided my journey in music. They drive me to all my practices and performances. They are responsible for me growing musically and also having great values in life. My dad constantly tells me that his goal in life is for me to be a great human being. The rest will fall into place.
