Meet Matteo Cagliani

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Matteo Cagliani. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Matteo with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic comes mainly from my parents, especially my dad. He showed me resilience and sacrifice by building a career through courage and persistence, even when many doubted him. Watching him dedicate years of hard work to create opportunities for our family taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of persistence. My mom, in a different way, was always present during my childhood and taught me values like consistency and care.
Together, they shaped my work ethic and the values I live by today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’ve had a passion for cinema since I was a kid. I remember going to the movies and being completely immersed in the story, that feeling has never left me. That’s what inspired me to pursue acting, with the dream of one day seeing myself on the big screen and giving others the same emotions I felt.

At 19, I made the decision to move across the world to Los Angeles to study at the New York Film Academy, where I’m currently finishing my BFA, always expanding my network and open to any kind of projects.

I know this industry is competitive and full of challenges, but this is what I love, it’s what makes me happiest. Even at the end of a tough day, I feel grateful knowing I’m pursuing my passion instead of settling for less.

As I always like to say: do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey are discipline, self-prioritization, and integrity.

Discipline is the art of doing the work even when you don’t feel like it. Improving even 1% every day. This will take you further than relying only on bursts of motivation.

Self-prioritization, which some may mistake for selfishness, is also important. When I moved to the United States, I had to leave my family and everything familiar behind. That decision didn’t mean I didn’t care about them, it meant I was investing in myself so I could grow and create a better future.

Finally, integrity. Never sell yourself short or compromise your values just because someone makes you feel less than what you’re worth. When you have pride in who you are and what you do, you naturally attract the right people and opportunities.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m definitely open to collaborations in the entertainment industry, especially projects in film, television, or creative media where I can bring my passion for acting and storytelling.

At this stage in my career, every opportunity helps me grow, and I approach each one with dedication and professionalism.

I’ve already had the chance to work on a range of projects, from short films and music videos to campaigns for clothing brands, and I’ve learned something valuable from each collaboration.
