Matteocci , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Music. If it wasn’t for music I would be dead or doing life in prison. The feeling and satisfaction I get from recording performing and listening to my own music as well as others bumping my music is what gives me true satisfaction. I was born to be an artist music is my passion and my purpose. I want to touch as many people as I can through my music.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am an independent artist from Detroit Michigan and also the CEO of the Indy label Grind 2 Shine Entertainment LLC. I have music out on all Streaming platforms, have done shows all over Michigan and Toledo. I have worked with legends such as Spice 1, C-Bo, Richie Rich, Mac Mall, Boosie BadAzz, Mike Mosley, RJ Lamont, Big Lurch, JTK Pro Beats and many others!!!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

To all those independent artists no matter what genre or sound you make NEVER GIVE UP if you truly love what you do and are passionate about your craft. The fans will come the people will come eventually just continue to work hard be determined and keep a business mindset so you don’t end up signing a bad deal or getting screwed out your money. ALWAYS write up your own contracts as an independent artist or CEO when handling your business. For example say you wanted a feature from a famous artist and he agrees to do it for 5 thousand dollars. Write the contract up (so and so agreed to do a Hook/verse and feature on my song I have paid 5,000$ for the feature and I need the song sent back to me by (whenever you want it back) this is a MUST to protect yourself. This is a shady business and people will try to run off with your money or get over on you. So always write up them contracts and record or screenshot every conversation with the other party so if they violate the terms you can sue them and get your money back plus extra for the damages wasted time and money that you spent putting the play together.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes I am always looking for new talent to collaborate with and I am always down to experiment with different types of styles and music. I personally rap & sing but I am down to work with ANYONE as long as I feel they are passionate about it and like the idea. I do charge for features because this is a business but if I really really like what you got going on and vica versa we can always work something out.
