Matthew , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I’m always listening . If I hear a catchy phrase or line that sparks interest I’ll try to make it a song and create a story from that. I love to switch songs around at the end to make it mean something completely different. I feel it makes it creative
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’ve played music for years! Only taken it seriously for the last maybe four years. I’ve really locked in on my style and really enjoying what I do now. we are now out on the road playing shows in different states and different places and it’s really starting to all come together as what I envisioned in my head.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Watch, listen, and support. Watch what other people are doing. Listen to what they have to say to teach you. And support other musicians, small businesses, anything like that.. everybody starts at the bottom, but it takes a Community to take you to the top.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
I would have to say Red Ridge Entertainment . They are my production crew. They produce my music book my gigs, contact people they do all the dirty work, which lets me focus on playing music. They also help me grow my style. Make me more comfortable with what I’m doing and just all the loose ends. Big shout out to Red Ridge Entertainment .
