We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Matthew ‘Ghost” Clark. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Matthew ‘Ghost” below.
Hi Matthew ‘Ghost”, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
One rule I live by is to never let someone that gave up on their dreams, talk you out of yours.
We live in an envious world now that seems to be full of jealousy. The ability for people to be truly happy to see others succeed has seemed to fade.
In the entertainment industry especially, people like you as long as they can get something out of you. And when they find out you want be used then they turn on you.
I have been a victim of cyber stalking and cyber bullying because of this.
But I don’t pay attention to the nonsense. I just keep moving. And if anyone says they were your friend and allows nonsense to make them turn on you, then they were never for you anyone.
Never get distracted and let your success prove who you are.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am proud to have been labeled one of the most versatile artists in the world.
They say I can work in any medium but I believe I was just too dumb to think I couldn’t.
I love to create. Murals, body paint, custom cars and bikes, airbrush, signs, screen printing, graphic design, illustration, fashion design, sculpture, you name it. I have been blessed that I have been able to do it all, and touch so many around the world.
I won my first art contest at 5 years old and never stopped.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I was lucky to have been born in the 70’s and to have grown up in the 80’s. I was able to learn the old ways of doing things, by artists from the 40’s and 50’s, and then learn all the technology as it developed from then to the present.
I can work with all the technology to bring my clients dreams to reality. But if technology and computers ended tomorrow I would still be able to fall back on the knowledge passed down to me by the older generation that have now passed.
Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
I believe everyone has their strengths and a gift that they can share with the world.
My son was looking sad one day and I asked what was wrong.
He was sad because he wasn’t as good as playing ball like some of the other kids. But my son has so much talent with art.
I asked him if the other kids could do art like he can.
He thought for a second and said no.
I said exactly.
Focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses.
We all have gifts to share with the world and it’s a blessing for all of us to be able to discover them and to use them to bring happiness to others.
