Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Matthew Lampart. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Matthew, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
In my twenties, I felt completely untethered — like I didn’t quite fit anywhere except the solitude of my parents’ basement, where I spent countless hours making music for no one but myself. I didn’t have a plan or a clear path forward; I just knew I needed to create.
Eventually, I started to share what I was working on. First with family. Some tracks they liked, others… not so much. But instead of letting that deter me, I kept going. I paid closer attention to detail. I learned how to shape a sound, how to mold a mood. I started refining not just the music, but the way I approached it.
Over time, the fear of rejection faded. I came to understand that my art is a reflection of who I am — not for everyone, but worthy nonetheless. People began to appreciate the effort, the intention, the craft. And I realized that connection doesn’t come from being perfect — it comes from being honest.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Mateyo — music producer and owner of The Moose House Studio here in Baltimore. I work with both local and international artists, helping them shape their musical ideas into something vibrant, relevant, and unmistakably their own.
My role is part translator, part technician, and part creative partner. I bring a deep understanding of today’s musical landscape to each session, guiding artists in a way that makes their sound feel current without losing what makes it unique.
But more than anything, I want the process to be fun. Making music shouldn’t feel like work — it should feel like freedom. I encourage the artists I work with to bring their raw, unfiltered ideas to the table. My job is to turn those ideas into something polished and exciting — like sonic candy, with a little bit of that Willy Wonka magic.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities have defined my journey more than anything else: perseverance, patience, and a deep love for the craft. Not a love for what success might bring — the accolades, the followers, the hype — but a genuine love for the process itself. The kind of love that feeds your mind and keeps you coming back, even when no one’s watching.
If you’re just starting out on a creative path, that’s the key. You have to love what you’re doing first. Otherwise, it risks becoming just another job — routine, exhausting, and uninspired. But when you truly care about the work, it becomes something more: a source of energy, joy, and purpose.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Lately, my creative focus has been centered around three key areas: film scoring, pop music, and international house. That’s where my imagination is living right now — blending emotion, energy, and storytelling across different sonic worlds.
If you’re serious about collaborating and you’ve got a vision (and a budget), I’d love to connect. You can reach me on Instagram at @producedbymateyo. Let’s make something unforgettable.
