Meet Maura Allard

We recently connected with Maura Allard and have shared our conversation below.

Maura, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I was raised by a father who grew up during the depression, and a mother who was mentally ill. Neither of them knew how to foster self worth or self confidence. It was not their fault, no one ever fostered it in them either. My journey to developing self worth and confidence has been a long, profound and often beautiful journey. In the beginning I knew only one way to feel worthy and seen it was to get acknowledgement externally. I had a solid work ethic and I was driven to succeed in whatever I undertook and when I received praise I from anyone I basked in it, and drank it all in, it validated me and for a long time it felt good.

In my 30’s I would grapple with alcohol addiction. It was in the halls of AA where I learned I could share my story and not be shamed that I began to look inward. Also at that time I would find an amazing therapist and start sharing all the parts of me that I hid from the world and were covered in guilt, despair and shame. From there I began working with coaches and that was where the magic really happened. Once I had worked through those dark places in my life I was ready for forward movement. I’ve worked with life coaches, business coaches, metaphysical coaches and every one of them were instrumental in helping me believe in me.

But if I’m honest we can hire many people, consult every friend and family member but true growth is an inside job. Recently when I launched a new endeavor I saw myself once again looking outward and wondering what would people think of me. I got very quiet, I journaled my doubts, I spent quite a bit of time alone so I could hear the intuitive voice that said You Got This. Let them think what they will, you were born to shine. So to answer the question in the beginning I needed help to find my way back to me but now my confidence and self worth come from a quiet place inside me that knows that I am worthy of greatness.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’ve always been the emotional one in my family. Unfortunately my family was not one for displays of emotion or a family that discussed feelings, so I learned at a young age to suppress many of my emotions and senses. It was not till much later on in life, that I would be drawn back into the world of intuition, deep knowing and deep feeling.

11 years ago I left Corporate America and became a licensed Realtor in Massachusetts and later on New Hampshire. I gained success quickly and many people were perplexed why. I had a natural knack of knowing how to connect with people. I could sense their energy and I knew how to work with their energy. I could also feel the energy of homes and land and knew which homes were going to sell quickly and which ones were going to get stuck. Around the same time I became a Realtor I started deepening my intuitive skills by working with divination tools such as Oracle decks, pendulums and Tarot. I was fascinated by the Moon, Egypt and Indigenous practices. I did not know then that some day my career and my intuitive skills would collide.

In 2020 I became fascinated with the amount of people moving! I was busier than ever in the height of a pandemic! Most of my clients just kept stating a similar sentiment, now that I have to stay inside this house day in and day out I don’t like it. I was sensing a trend but it would take some more time till I could put my finger on it. In 2021 I was struggling with a difficult client. I disliked how I felt so I looked up at the sky on my way to a showing this clients home and asked that the feeling of judgement be released. Well, I went into the house, sat down and then the spirit of the home started talking to me! It said SAVE ME. Something in me shifted right then, I no longer judged my difficult client I was on a mission to save this house from its miserable owner. I sold the house that day.

After that day my intuitive gifts came onboard full force, I could no longer keep them at bay. I realized so many people were moving during Covid because the energy of their home was off. I studied and got certified in Holistic Feng Shui, I also studied Foundational and Advanced BioGeometry. The more I learned about the energy in the land and homes and how we can work with it, clear it, move it, shift it, uplift it the more excited I became.

I’ve created two business. Wind, Water & Wisdom which focuses on raising the vibration in your home. I believe our homes are energetic extensions of us. I offer home and land clearings, Holistic Feng Shui consultations, BioGeometry consultations for home, body and emotional balancing and harmonizing, I make sacred high vibe home sprays and essential oil blends and I even offer Oracle card readings.

My other business is Maura Allard Intuitive Realtor. I’m now living in Eastern North Carolina where I work with clients who are concerned with the energy of the land and the home they are going to purchase. How we live and feel in our homes is vital to our wellbeing. My goal is to find the best home possible that will energetically support you. I can also read into the energy of land, homes and neighborhoods remotely for clients. All I need is an address.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Professional coaching – Having a coach kept me accountable on growing my businesses. At different periods of my life I chose different types of coaching and all had a profound impact on my personal, spiritual and business growth.

Reading a room/know your audience – For some this skills comes more naturally but everyone can learn to read a room. We all yearn for connection. When you meet someone or spend time in their space. Take in the details, how they dress, what they drive, how they live or work, what are their values, where do they like to eat, do they have hobbies? The more you learn WHO your customer/client is the more you will connect to them. Ask them questions, make them feel seen and important.

Patience – Just because you have a website it does not mean you will have clients over night. Practice patience. I do one thing daily to move my business forward. Even if its tiny all these little movements add up and before you know it you will be getting noticed. Celebrate every little win and don’t forget to ask for MORE PLEASE.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The very first book that impacted me was Wild by Cheryl Strayed. Wild made me feel seen. Someone lost who sets out by herself to find herself. She was a mess, until she was not. I identified with her. I read this book in 2012, in 2013 I would decide I wanted to leave Corporate America and in 2014 I would.

One of my favorite quotes:

“I knew that if I allowed fear to overtake me, my journey was doomed. Fear, to a great extent, is born of a story we tell ourselves, and so I chose to tell myself a different story from the one women are told. I decided I was safe. I was strong. I was brave. Nothing could vanquish me.”
