We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maurice Costello. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maurice below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Maurice with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Coming with the good questions…..A good work ethic in the context of the clothing industry involves a set of values, behaviors, and attitudes that contribute to personal and professional success. Upholding a commitment to delivering high-quality products is essential. This involves meticulous attention to detail in design, fabric selection, manufacturing processes, and overall craftsmanship. A good work ethic in clothing embraces innovation and creativity. Staying abreast of fashion trends, experimenting with new designs, and pushing creative boundaries demonstrate a proactive approach to the ever-evolving industry. Maintaining a professional demeanor in all business interactions, whether with clients, suppliers, or team members, is vital. Professionalism includes effective communication, respect, and integrity. I learned these concepts just by looking at those I studied and looked up to. Keeping a strong work ethic is key for me so I keep these practices stapled in my mind.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Right now… the focus is just to keep going, I tend to think of new designs and I try to spin them in ways others would like them to the point it can be everyday wear. I am excited about the expansion on the brand I created from the start, before it was a dedicated brand to strictly one form but thinking outside the box I have brought different concepts that still work with the main brand and able to reach a different crowd with new designs. US vs THEM one of my latest designs have really took a look from people on the street. I am excited that it has had a big turn out and a lot of people have been requesting and purchasing it from my site. My latest design I have big plans for cause it takes Royalty and my base concept on my brand W0LV3Z and brings it together so I can not wait to see how the people react to this design. Another focus is reaching out to celebrities to get them to notice my brand and see how far they can take it, I believe it would be a good look but that’s currently a work in progress.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My main three skills or knowledge I would have to say is. Distinct Brand Identity:
Your brand should have a unique and recognizable identity that sets it apart from competitors. This could include a signature style, a distinct logo, or a particular theme that resonates with a global audience.
Cultural Sensitivity:
Consider cultural nuances and preferences to ensure your brand is relatable and appealing to diverse audiences worldwide. This involves adapting marketing strategies, designs, and messaging to suit different cultural contexts.
Social Media Engagement:
Leverage social media to connect with a global audience. Engage with followers from different countries, share diverse content, and use platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter to showcase your brand’s international appeal.
And one thing to always remember things aren’t always going to blow up over night, it is definitely a journey just keep going and do not quit.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking for people to collaborate with, from models to different brands. Models are your face to your brand without them you have nothing to show off so it is always good to collaborate with different models. Other brand creators are also a must to collaborate with cause you never know what a cross over collab could do for your brand, it could turn out dope if it is done correctly. So just a message to anyone out there who wants to collaborate of course contact on any of my social media.
