Meet Maxine Catlin

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maxine Catlin. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maxine below.

Maxine, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

First, I found my purpose through prayer. I prayed through the process, seeking clarity and guidance. Second, I always knew deep down that I was put here to help people to motivate and empower them, and to show them that they can achieve anything they set their mind to. Lastly, when you’re living in your purpose, you’re not only helping yourself, but also helping your family. I’m a big believer that what’s best for me is also what’s best for my family, and they are my greatest motivation.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a Life Coach, Realtor, and Author, and all three roles mean so much to me. Life coaching is my baby, especially through my Angel Healing services. It’s also reflected in my children’s book and my journal with affirmations. I started the Angel Healing brand out of a foundation of love, peace, happiness, and healing. I truly believe that everyone in the world needs someone to talk to, to feel valued and loved, and to know that it’s okay not to be okay. That’s where Angel Healing comes in. We offer candles, bookable sessions, and tools to help you start your journey to becoming the best version of yourself.

As for being an author, that plays a big chapter in my life too. My book “There’s a Bully in the Mirror” tells the story of a young girl who was bullied but knew how to fight back by embracing who she was and practicing self-love. With the support of her parents, she overcame the bully, and eventually, they became friends. Bullying is a huge issue, and with suicide rates being so high, especially among youth, this story is about self-love, resilience, and knowing that no one is ever alone. Children are loved, protected, and capable of achieving anything they set their minds to.

Being a realtor is also a passion of mine. I became a realtor because I want to help people build generational wealth for themselves and their families. There’s no better feeling than having something that belongs to you something valuable that can be passed down, like a home. The equity you gain in a home is so empowering, and knowing that you’ve secured something lasting for your family is priceless.

I truly love what I do in all these areas. If you’d like more information, I have my website where you can find everything you need. All the details will be listed below!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

. Self-awareness and Emotional Intelligence
Understanding myself my strengths, weaknesses, and emotions was a game changer. Self-awareness helped me stay grounded and handle the ups and downs with more resilience. It also helped me empathize with others, especially in my life coaching practice, where emotional intelligence is key. Knowing how to regulate my emotions and help others navigate theirs has made me more effective and compassionate.

2. Consistency and Discipline
Consistency is essential in anything you do, whether it’s business, personal growth, or relationships. I realized that small, daily efforts lead to big, long-term results. Discipline kept me going when motivation ran low. As a realtor, life coach, and author, showing up consistently for my clients and myself has been a critical part of my success.

3. Adaptability and Continuous Learning
The ability to adapt to new situations, learn from challenges, and stay open to growth has been one of my most powerful tools. Life changes, industries evolve, and staying stagnant isn’t an option. I embraced learning new things, whether it was real estate market trends or understanding the mindset of people who need healing.

Advice for those on their journey:

– Develop Self-awareness: Spend time reflecting on who you are, what you want, and how your emotions affect your actions. Journaling and mindfulness can help with this.

– Be Consistent: Whatever your goals, create daily habits that move you forward, even when things get tough. Progress may feel slow at times, but consistency builds momentum.

– Stay Adaptable: Life will throw challenges your way, so be flexible. Take every opportunity as a lesson, and never stop learning or evolving.

By focusing on these areas, you can develop resilience, stay grounded in your purpose, and create lasting success.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The most helpful people in overcoming challenges and developing the skills I needed to be successful have been my parents and the people I love. My parents, especially, have always been my biggest supporters. Their belief in me and constant encouragement to keep pushing through challenges has made all the difference in my journey. Their support gave me the strength to strive for success, even during tough times.

My mom, in particular, has been a guiding light, offering wisdom, comfort, and motivation when I needed it most. She’s always there, reminding me that I’m never alone and that I can accomplish anything. Her presence makes everything I do more meaningful.

Beyond that, my daughter is a huge inspiration. I want to be the best role model for her, showing her that no matter what life brings, she can overcome it. My fiancé and the rest of my family and friends have also been essential in helping me navigate challenges and grow. Their love and support give me the strength to keep going.
