We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maxwell & Caitlin Benson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maxwell & Caitlin , so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.
We love when we get people dismiss us or say we can’t do something. It motivates up to push even harder!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We are a nationally touring comedy company servicing many markets including Los Angeles and Austin Tx. As a husband and wife team we feel we bring a balanced perspective to the comedy industry.

We currently run monthly shows on the rooftop of Mama Shelter Hotel over looking all of Hollywood and bi monthly shows with our favorite dog shelter Annenberg Petspace and the W Hotel Beverly Hills. We love working with non traditional comedy venues. We feel it provides an elevated experience.

We also run a bi monthly comedy tour from LA to Austin with stops in Tucson, Hotel Paisano in Marfa Tx, The Old 76 in Fort Stockton Tx, Fieldhouse at The Crossover in Cedar Park Tx and at Hudson’s On Mercer in Dripping Spring Tx.

We also also do bi monthly shows in Austin Tx with our partner Nudge Text at Rozco’s Comedy Club and Native Hostel.

This Fall Caitlin Benson will be filming her second comedy special with an hour set at one of our favorite venues Hudson’s On Mercer in Dripping Springs Tx.

We will be releasing a new podcast as well, featuring some of our favorite people and local small businesses here in Texas. The podcast is called Hella Lit Vibe!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Never give up 2. Communicate with respect, effectively and on time
3. Know your worth and be willing to walk away as something better with manifest itself.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
We have been exploring brand partnership lately as we get more of them approaching us with us being nationally touring compnay. For us we don’t drink or smoke and we don’t want to partner with a brand that isn’t something we would use ourselves personally.

It would be great to work have a brand sponsor like liquid death water company or sprinter van manufacture Outside Van. We are always open but have walked away from liquor brand deals because it wasn’t authentic to who we are.
