Meet Mayowa Ojo

We recently connected with Mayowa Ojo and have shared our conversation below.

Mayowa, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem, from constantly seeking validation externally, which led me to the path of knowing I am the only one that can validate myself. I learned I can only find happiness within myself. Once I realized what I was looking for in other people, I can find in myself..it became much easier to have positive self talk, and to truly build my self-confidence from the inside out.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Simply put, I am an esthetician. But I am also a licensed salon manager and soon to be licensed esthetician educator. I absolutely love enhancing women and giving them a boost of self confidence. I think of lashes as a frame for our face and all works of art deserve a frame . Lash Haus truly believes when you look good , you feel good.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back I think always willing to learn/be teachable/Continue education was a top quality to have, staying consistent because small steps create giant progress , and lastly , don’t compete with anyone but yourself.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
I think the most impactful thing they did for me was not judge me while I was making life decisions such as deciding to drop out of college and purse my esthetician license instead.
