Meet Mayra Cavalheiro

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mayra Cavalheiro. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mayra below.

Mayra, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

“I developed my confidence and self-esteem over time by focusing on growth instead of perfection. I learned to trust my abilities through experience taking on challenges, learning from mistakes, and celebrating progress. The more I stepped out of my comfort zone, the more I realized what I was capable of.”

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m the bar lead at the AC Hotel, where I get to combine creativity, hospitality, and teamwork every day. What I love most about what I do is creating experiences not just drinks. It’s about connecting with people, making them feel welcome, and adding a personal touch that turns an ordinary visit into something memorable.

We’ve been putting a lot of heart into our cocktail program, from seasonal creations to unique ingredient pairings that reflect both local flavor and modern style. It’s exciting to see guests come back for something new each time.

Looking ahead, I’m really focused on continuing to elevate the bar experience whether that’s through creative menus, collaborations, or simply mentoring others who share the same passion for hospitality.”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Working in hospitality teaches you quickly that things don’t always go as planned, so adaptability is key learning to stay calm and solution-focused no matter what comes your way.
Patience has helped me grow into leadership and understand that progress takes time both in myself and in others. And most importantly, caring about people teammates and guests is what really makes the difference.
When you lead and serve with heart, everything else follows.

My advice for anyone starting out is to stay open to learning every single day. Don’t rush the process focus on building strong habits, listening, and showing up with a good attitude. Skills you can always develop, but your mindset and the way you treat people will take you the furthest.”

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes, absolutely I’m always open to collaborating with people who share a passion for creativity, hospitality, and memorable experiences. Whether it’s local brands, distilleries, or other professionals in the industry, I love working with those who bring new ideas and positive energy to the table. Collaboration is where some of the best inspiration happens.

We’re always exploring new cocktail concepts, seasonal features, and events that bring the community together so if anyone reading this is interested in partnering or sharing ideas, I’d love to connect. The best way to reach out is through the AC Hotel or directly through my social media channel @mayracavalheiroo
