Meet MaZing

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to MaZing. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

MaZing, so great to have you on the platform and excited to have you share your wisdom with our community today. Communication skills often play a powerful role in our ability to be effective and so we’d love to hear about how you developed your communication skills.

Communication is the key to relationship building and I’ve found through my experience that listening intently and responding only when someone has completed their thought is what makes most people feel comfortable. Of course there are times you may cut someone off or interject but as long as you give them specific cues it allows the conversation to continue moving forward. The way that I communicate has developed over time and is definitely a skill anyone can develop as long as you are open minded and patient. Listening is the key.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a musician, songwriter and performer from Boston, MA but I currently reside in Dallas, TX. My style of music is psychedelic cloud rap, bedroom pop and alternative hip hop. I’ve been developing a sound that is unique, carving out my own lane in the music world where my ideas can live and my voice resonates the message of my life’s experiences. My mission is to spread peace and love with my music and bring joy to my people’s lives with my spirit. In September I’m headlining, ‘The Kaleidoscopes and Lava Show’, at Top Ten Records in Bishop Arts. It will be a great event with merch, games, a raffle and live bands accompanying the performing artists.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Patience. Determination. Relationship Building. The patience is where you learn and understand that regardless of the outcomes you will continue to do what you love and what inspires, regardless of any setbacks or shortcomings. Determination involves you continuing to push forward whether people are showing up for you or not. Whether you are getting booked or not, you have a purpose and a why behind your goal that keeps you in the mindset of putting one foot in front of the other in faith, trusting that your intention and hard work will take you where you want to go. I believe the best way to develop relationship building is to put yourself around likeminded people and show up for them consistently. Call them, check in, spend time with them and show that you genuinely care about their success just as much as your own because through community is where you create something spectacular.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! I love to collaborate with creative people from different mediums. Photographers, Videographers, Graphic Designers, Models, Producers, Podcasters and even other Musicians.

I really want to connect with people who are open minded, disciplined and motivated to complete projects and see their visions come to life. People who find a way to make things work and respect each other’s time.
